Dear OP,
I wrote this to one of your detractors but clearly, it needs to be addressed to many that followed.
Dear Rabble (you know who you are),
The words entitled and sensitive and their prolific use as some kind of argument in itself, has become a brand, you do realize?
Ignorant, close minded, emotionally unintelligent and very likely angry losers under the misimpression that their lot in life is somehow foisted upon them by people with both a brain and a sense of something larger than themselves have become the near exclusive users of these - deflections.
Deej's comms skills are (obviously) untrained, reactive, emotionally challenged and professionally incompetent. I would fire him instantly and yes, I review exactly these types of scenarios professionally and am internationally recognized for crisis and business management and effective communication strategies, which I'll forgo for this, largely obtuse (and qualification hostile) audience.
In fact, Deej's arrogant use of costic deflection demonstrates more about the Bungie-centric attitude and hubris of that company than any shareholders, stakeholders, clients or partners should allow and would be appropriately branded by EVERY professional as amateur and childish.
Moreover, far from 'entitled' or anti Destiny, the OP is pointing out a timely concern that risks this game's future as much as the trailor trash that have become its self appointed Guardian Minutemen and possibly - client brand.
As counsel therefore, to you and your Tea Party brethren, you might consider exercising some judgment before wielding it and; dare we dream, considering feedback as a conversation with equals instead of an opportunity to claim your - ellusive - manhood or superiority?

I like this, good on ya.
-
Try to dial down the pedantry a little bit, it helps your overall message, especially on a forum like this lol I'm guilty of it too
-
Verbosity != intellect Verbosity != accurate Just a game, Focker.
-
Awww shit, some dumbass found the underline and bold buttons.
-
Well, well, well. Another completely accurate truth. Haven't been playing destiny much the last couple weeks and won't be for a long time, but glad to see you are calling them out on their BS with logic. Keep it up buddy and hopefully bungie will actually have a community manager that isn't a useless communicator and business practices that are borderline immoral! Fight the good fight.
-
Good Evening Sir, Been looking for you and lamenting your absence. DM me some time, we've got to connect on another channel and share drinks, chatter and pontifications. And thank you kind sir, the good fight seems to be perpetual.

Other than the cheap shots at trailer trash and the Tea Party, you make a good point. Let's take the emotional part out and look at this objectively. Deej acted unprofessionally. Anyone dealing with customers day in and day out knows the importance of composure. Over the years, I've had to eat a lot of shit from customers and grin. I don't retort with condescending or cynical remarks. That's how you lose the higher moral ground. Soon after, you start to lose customers. So when I read Deej's backhanded acknowledgement of the mistake in the game's economy, I could only shake my head in disappointment. This is who Bungie hired to represent them to the community. Their fan base. It's not about hurt feelings or thin skin. It's about expectations of professionalism from the community manager. Deej fell short this time.

Edited by ColNapalm: 11/7/2015 11:33:44 PMThe cheap shots were the point. Its a cheap crowd and they need a slap (back). But yes, professionally you are on point and I'm rather surprised that this fan base, many of whom have service related jobs, think Deej is anything less than a disaster. Or maybe they do and just like sniping, thus the well earned shots.

This is comically ingratiating.
-
0-0 I feel as though I should shake your hand.... Also, it is -blam!-ing refreshing to see someone like you here.
-
I remain confident that - we - are the majority, my friend. Not engaging was a sage and civil strategy but it emboldened them to eviscerate the social contract. We need it back and the better voices restored. Cheers

You one the Internet for the day sir
-
A lot of typos.. Poorly worded.. But totally understood.
-
Smell that team? That's the smell of self importance.
-
Echoes some of my own thoughts entirely. Thanks for taking the time to add some sense to what was otherwise a stream of hubris. Having worked in a variety of customer facing professional roles, I know how I would have felt if my team had been communicating (or not in some cases), but moreover how I would have subsequently handled the situation.

Is everyone who's applauding this post just impressed by big words? Half of the words you're using to express your vast intellect and superior rationality are misspelled, and the other half don't make sense together as intelligible English.
-
im laughing at this post very obviously written by someone trying so hard to seem intelligent. heres a tip for him. nobody actually talks or writes like that.. except kids (trying so hard to appear more intelligent then you)and hipster douchebags lol
-
Hardly. It's more that it's the truth, and it is better phrased than most anyone on this forum can manage.
-
English is redundant following intelligible and you shouldn't use a comma before the word and. If you're going to chose grammer for a flanking attack on content, you might want to load your own wits first.
-
Ha ha haaaa. What? Grammer? You're having a laugh.
-
Um...neither of those are errors. The redundant thing sounds like your personal opinion, and my "and" was connecting two independent clauses, so a comma is perfectly acceptable. Muh wits is loaded.
-
That's probably cause you don't know what half of them mean
-
You're probably right. Or maybe I just think some people should stop throwing in words from their thesaurus and go back to making Joseph Ducreax memes.
-
This.
