I appreciate your intelligence but I myself am sick of your argument. Legally yes, they have us by the balls and are LEGALLY allowed to do whatever the -blam!- they want. Morally, however, 18 exotic armor pieces were advertised and a third of that was delivered. That's false advertisement and in any other form of media or even business would be considered illegal.

It's only false advertisement if they advertised that those weapons/armor would be available by a certain time, and then that time came and went without those weapons/armor ever being available. And even in that case they would probably be covered by some technicality in the licence agreement. But legality aside... We're not quite two months into year two... If the weapons/armor you're referring to are part of year two as a whole, then you really need to slow your roll.

  • What the -blam!-ing -blam!-... You aren't worth arguing with. I'm not conceding defeat in our conversation, there's just no point in arguing with you as you have very different viewpoints then me. I'll just go to a restaurant and not complain if it takes them 8 hours to make my food. I mean, they didn't say WHEN I'd get it. Or I'll go buy fallout 4, just to find that half the map is blocked off. I mean, since they didn't mention it, and I only bought a license to play the game, they can just add it in in 7 months right? Unless otherwise stated, it is assumed that advertised content will be part of the expansion it was stated to be in, and not in an update 5 months down the road. It's called lying by omission.

  • both examples you used support the other guy's argument. legally, yes they could do all those things

  • I know that. But do they sound Dane or reasonable? I know how laws work, but if you're actually okay with the above statements then I'm sorry, but I think you're mentally insane my man :/

  • morality and legality do not intersect, unfortunately. I'm not necessarily "ok" with those practices, I've just come to accept that's the way it works

  • I think his point though is that's NOT how it works in most instances. Deliberate and excessive deceit is not generally tolerated.

  • For me however, I'm not okay with laying down and being stepped on because that's just the way it works and they're allowed to. They didn't state that a massive chunk of the content would be left out until a later date. If they had, I would simply be upset about that, and have no argument. What I'm saying is, what if vault of glass was specifically advertised on the base game box, yet wasn't in the base game, and they didn't tell us? We knew that vault of glass would take a few weeks to release.

  • you're right, it is a crappy practice morally. however, if you are going to give them an argument against this practice, you have to argue legal problems with them, not moral claims. Activision and Bungie don't really care how you feel as long as their numbers are strong. Instead of voicing your opinion on the forums and continuing to play the game, just don't play the game. that's really how they'll listen, if enough people have a strong resolve to stop playing.

  • And that's the thing though, it's impossible to debate legally because we have absolutely nothing. The EULA is iron clad. That doesn't mean I'll just roll over and take the bullshit though.

  • I haven't really played for a couple weeks actually. Tried trials last weekend for a couple hours. I actually quit more of business practices than actually hating the game. If it weren't for time gating and what is in my opinion the worst RNG of any raid (the different attack values), the very mechanics meant to keep me playing for longer, I'd probably be playing right now.

  • That's the root of this whole debacle. OP is upset about ethics, which is fine, but he's supporting it with legality... And there's an unfortunate, but definite separation there.

  • Sorry if I came off that way, I am well aware that legally we the players have nothing. As I said somewhere down below, that EULA is iron clad. However, despite that, I'm not just going to take it. I would've been fine if there was just a tiny quote, "Not all 18 armors will be available at launch", or "the content will be released intermittently", ANYTHING. I know that legally, due to that little phrase "subject to change" and that big EULA we have no standing ground. I just think that if content IS changed, that was subject to change, they should aware the player base how it was changed. People were pre ordering a false product. I honestly don't even care THAT much, I don't play anymore. Thanks for having a counter argument and ALSO being intelligent. Most people I try to have debates with on here are ignorant and illogical. Again, I know legally we can do nothing. That won't stop me from calling out what in my eyes and millions of others' is bullshit.

  • Funny how you say you're tired of arguing and then continue to argue with like 10 more responses. You could have stopped responding at any point.

  • This goes back to Bungie's lack of communication with the player base. We have two "community managers" and other numerous PR people who have no idea WHAT or HOW to communicate. You would think they would have learned a bit from year1, I know we did

  • Your comparisons are illogical. Were you even here in year one? Yes, you should not attempt to debate with me, you are leagues away from logic, rational, and practicality... You are, however, neighbors with entitlement and petulance.....
