Ginger analyzed the Dread for its strengths and weaknesses. That lance would outrange his sword, and his sword would have to be used at a range that could neutralize that shield. In addition, the helmet that the Dread wore would hinder its vision, which worked in his favor. Instead of charging straight towards the Elite, Ginger slides at the last second, under the lance, and pops up right in front of the Dread. He bashes the shield aside with his right forearm and stabs the blade into its chest.

[b]The Dread roars with anger, yellow blood emerging from the wound It punches him away, and sluggishly starts to makes it way toward him again, its wound oozing[/b]

Ginger goes with the punch, using the force behind the blow to push him away. The stab clearly didn't kill the Dread, but it certainly weakened it; perhaps it would be wiser to let it tire itself out. Ginger stayed just out of range of the lance, circling his foe.

[b]The Dread swung wildly, attempting to either smack him aside with the lance in order to make a final strike, or kill him with the impact His movements became slower and slower, as his energy drained away[/b]

Ginger parried a stab that would have taken him in the chest, and did a quick strike that glanced off of the Dread's impressive armor. The plasma blade would only be effective if it was a powerful blow, and the Dread wasn't giving him that chance. Thinking quickly, Ginger swung the sword laterally in front of him, knocking the lance aside, and then tackles the Elite. He drives armored fingers through its helmet and into its eye sockets, then follows up with a punch to the jaw, and then a punch to the skull, crushing the Dread's brain with a sickening crunch. He gets up, dusts himself off, and searches for more hostiles.
