I know it's not used to curve bullets, but helping retards line up head shots should not be a thing.
If you can't point at a head of your own skill, you need to find another game to play.
At the very least, not as much as Destiny has it. Some console aim assist is typical, but damn, Destiny has too much.
It's a friggin' hidden stat? Really?
You can hit 0 aim assist and still have noticeable aim assist on Efrideet's Spear? Really?
Scopes? Aim Assist? For god's sakes.
No sniper sway either.
Hidden hand? ...
Sure, 1000 Yard doesn't have the highest aim assist. But with Hidden Hand and the right scope, it hits upwards of 80 Aim Assist. Jesus.
And the reason people use it over others is because it's a high impact sniper. Perfect for all of your sniping needs.
Because it's common? Yes, but at the same time, it being common because it's given to you doesn't explain all the hidden hand people I'm seeing.

Don't know the right scopes, but damn... When i play PvP i use shotgun, today tried a 1000 yard, With full stability, am sure i Aimed only to the torso and suddenly was hitting a headshot, another guy jumping and same happening... Felt like a pro sniper... Wish it was like this on COD ahahahaha

I switched to 1K stare and also felt a ridiculous difference. Don't know if it's dumb luck or what, but damn, it made Trials a walk in the park.

Edited by Shakey: 11/12/2015 12:38:16 AMhttps://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/170566095/0/0 This will explain why all the "hidden hand people" you're seeing are pretty clueless in the subject. It also gives you no reason to complain about upwards of 80 aim assist - it was exactly the same as commonly found snipers in Y1 Trials.
-
You're the guy that I talked to about the SLR20, haha. I didn't play Y1 Trials, so I can't talk there. But Hidden Hand is a noticeable difference on the gun, and iirc, 1000 Yard Stare can get up to about 85 or so AA, which is higher than a lot of Y1s, if I was linked to any proper AA pages. I think it is rather stupid that a skill would allow you to keep a target "locked onto" for an extended time, which is net boost overall to helping you land headshots. It's also one of the only of its kind- High Impact, High Aim Assist. AA doesn't determine your skill, curve bullets, or any shit like that, but it certainly helps you land head shots.
-
My Y1 Benevolence was 80. +5 is barely a difference. My Eye of Sol was 81. These high values are and have been common since HoW was released. Oh right! So that means you will have already read the post. Apologies for re-linking you with it - I can't remember every name that comments!
-
I gotcha :D The difference is, imo, that Her Benevolence and Eye of Sol have low impact. Low Impacts in general have high AA, but 1k Stare is really high Impact AND has that Aim Assist to boot. Maybe it's also just me, but my 1k games have been way better than any of my other sniping matches. Probably the scope that's helping, I'm very picky with my scopes xD Gotta have a small dot in the center and nothing else distracting me, lol.

Edited by Shakey: 11/12/2015 11:33:08 PMI think you have your snipers mixed! Her Benevolence was also a 31 impact archetype, one of many that could snipe a res in Y1. The worst AA suspect in Y1 was Shadow of Veils (which had a locked roll, but had shortgaze in there), I can't remember the base AA stat but it was over 60 for sure, so there's another 31 impact sniper with over 80! Personally I can see a lot of complaints rooting from the ease of obtaining such a weapon, being so few of this archetype and also the fact shotgun range was nerfed heavily. The main focus was on the Shotguns so snipers never received much hate, but now those shotgunners are trying to get their own back it seems! Haha. It's a vicious circle on this forum. Edit: about the scopes, I feel ambush and shortgaze are the best because they have the lowest zoom, I can't use any others! I feel like I should be on battlefield with some of the scopes in this game, up to 8x!

Ah, I did have it confused with something else, my bad.
-
It doesn't line up head shots... If you're already aimed on the head (or body) it will drag the scope where the enemy is running for a few *milliseconds*. It takes longer for your brain to send a message to your effectors to make the movement of pulling the trigger than the scope stays on the enemy. This is simply another excuse for people coming up against someone who outplays them.
-
I still have to see 1 with hidden hand. Im stuck with the same starter 1k stare for months now.

Actually the way aim assist works the "retards" would have to find and point the reticle on the enemy's head to utilise it on snipers.
-
You are a clown, every weapon has aim assist. Every console fps game has aim assist, if you're going to moan about it then play them on PC, simple.
-
They didnt use to. It used to require skill. Why should we have to go play PC because you cant aim? I didnt ask them to start putting it in several years ago, so why now? It would be a better game without it. Then you would see true skill and the camping hidden hand snipers would have no kills because they dont know how to use another weapon. Just like everybody did to me look up one of these fools and see how many sniper kills they have and i bet its a lot thus proving my point they use it as a primary.
-
I can't believe you moan about snipers when the alternative in shotguns is so much easier to use and requires nowhere near as much skill.
-
Lol, try play a console game without aim assist and see how often you hit a headshot.
-
Every game has Aim Assist, but Destiny has a shit ton of it. I've played shooters for years, and I've never had even the slightest issue with AA til Destiny. Coming from Battlefields, this sniping just feels...kinda wrong. And I don't recall AA being a hidden stat for many other games, nor it being a perk that you can use. But it is what it is. This IS a casual FPS after all.

That I agree with, fact is everyone is going to lean towards the higher AA weapons if they want to compete
