So a couple of days ago my girlfriend goes, "why do I have a new quest on Earth?". We are both certified casuals on Destiny, but I usually keep up-to-date on the forums and such, so when I saw the First Firewall mission I knew what was going on. She managed the knights pretty well in three or four attempts, same goes for the speed run in that weird Cayde's tower. "You're doing great", I say, "now we just need to find warsats, should be easy".
Boy was I wrong there.
Earth and Moon, no problem whatsoever. Mars, well, you can imagine that. We spent like two hours on saturday, going from the Buried City to the Scablands to the Barrens and back to the City and so on; lots of other guardians in there too, everybody just running around. Always - always - Eliminate the damn Target. Never did so many in our guardian lives. After what felt like a dozen we left to do something else.
We tried again yesterday: target; target; target with Taken zealot; target; a whole lot of crappy poor little targets, mindlessly slaughtered every time by three or four random guardians caught between extreme boredom and misdirected anger. We spend another good hour like that, until something completely unexpected happen.
For some unknown reason, this one event in the Scablands was NOT a target. The announcement read "Defend the warsat". Oh my god it's happening. God. Where is it. Oh please let it be near - could you imagine if we missed it? I know I would kill myself. There it is, here we are! Pull out the ghost!

- What
- I don't... there's no "deploy" prompt

- Oh there it is
- Thank god
- Where is everyone? Why are we alone now?

So here comes the little unavoidable rant, sorry about it: come on, Bungie, seriously? I mean, I know the network error is not (well, probably) your fault, but how is this supposed to be fun? I don't usually mind working for the prize, I don't even mind a long hard grind generally, but this is not even grinding, it's just running around for hours and waiting. I would much rather do twenty or thirty warsats that I can plan somehow, or maybe different events altogether, I don't know; but that was just plain bad design.
Though on the bright side, I must admit that seeing bored guardians acting silly around the whole planet to avoid going insane was pretty fun.
