Mmo structure isn't for everyone. You can't find a first person shooter raid experience like destiny anywhere else. Its WoW meets Halo.

If destiny was a traditional MMO structure I think lot of the problems we have here would be a lot less concerning. In traditional MMO structure you have the basic game which gets you say level 40. Expansion comes out that has level 40-60 monsters. New players have to play the traditional game up to 40 before they can tackle the expansion. Next expansion comes out that has 60-80 monsters. Again you will need to play the game, then the 1st expansion and then you are ready for the last expansion. There is a clear path of progression that respects the old players and give challenge to the new players. Destiny just has no progression.. They have made all the old content irrelevant. That being said, old players are being shat on and new players are being nurtured.

Edited by Cellspot: 11/10/2015 11:27:10 AMA balance had to be struck. If it leaned even more into mmo territory, you'd lose even more of the fps shooter crowd, those that tend to dislike the grindiness of traditional mmos. And nobody that jumped into WoW post BC was running Black Temple for usable gear. Same with destiny, old raids are old.
