Win ratio and combat rating can be good indicators. If someone has a good win ratio, they're probably pretty good. If someone has a low one, it doesn't really show anything. Many players play Crucible solo. Coming from the guy who's usually at the top of the team with a very high KD, it doesn't really matter how well you do. Winning is basically random when you play by yourself.

True, but sometimes you can carry your team to victory. Look at my recent games for proof lol it's ridiculous.
-
I'm well aware having done it myself numerous times. But there's a key word in your post: sometimes
-
Sometimes. I've had games where I was +30-40 in clash and still lost. I play solo most of the time. My buddy and I had a game where we combined for like 60-5 but STILL lost. Sometimes there is no compensating for people who go 0-23.
-
Had a game like that in CoD4 I went 44-2 and still lost. I just needed the other 5 players to collectively go 31 and less than 73, they couldn't manage it
-
Yeah when I play game modes like control or rift it's about 50 50 on either it being a win or loss. But when I head into rumble it's generally a 85 percent chance I'll win.

I agree with you, yet I have an argument to the win % can equal skill. A guy that use to be the clan Im in, he wasn't a good pvper. He was actually quite bad, but on to my point. When he would go into curcible as a fireteam with myself and a couple other top people in the clan, we would win. While he is at the bottom of the scoreboard with a negative k/d. He would get carried basically. Now if you'd look at his win % it was decent only because of us. So my question to you, would you consider him skilled off of his win %? Or is that were you look at something else to see if his win % backs up hia skill?
-
No but that's why k/d by itself is just as bad. Can it be an indicator of skill, yes. But even the number 1 guy in Destiny, all consoles combined is Ultimatexweapon1. K/D of 28.89, win loss of 18%. I think he can camp. That's it. You should always check more than 1 stat.

This is the reason I threw the word "probably" into my post. Essentially, for the most part, people who run on a team are good. Most, not all.
-
Good point. Umm, arent you like one of the top players on xbox1? I think I've seen your name on the top of the leaderboards on DTR.
-
Unless you were in the obscure corner of DestinyTracker that is Rift K/D, no. Rift K/D is the only stat I have that really stands out. But yeah, I'm on XB1!
-
It might've been rift score a long time ago, haha.
-
At the time of launch for TTK I was top 50. Makes sense.

This.
