I get that point but cod is just a single game with a a couple map expansions and some more guns and then that's it. There's no continuing any cod game into the second game. Destiny and cod are two completely different games. I get why Bungie has made year ones utterly useless but I personally still think they should bring them back and just balance the whole game correctly

See that's the thing. They already did that. They nerfed the Ghorn and buffed the necrochasm, which were the two most controversial exotics in year one, and yet they are still going to be utterly useless.
