Combat rating. I don't know how it's calculated, but I know it takes several things into account rather than a single stat, including kd and how well you play objectives.

In that case, what is a 'good' combat rating?

Average seems around a 100, pretty good players seen to have 150+

I believe you're talking about DTR high skill on destiny tracker. Combat rating starts at 100

50 is top for destinytracker. Bungie has their own combat rating system. I don't know what it tops out at but I'm at 100.
