I think year 1 gear and exotics should be brought to year 2. Like you said the 2.0 patch already balanced the weapons and I agree that it makes no sense to leave anything behind. Here's what I think they should do. When you do the previous raids the gear drops at the lower levels that way TTK raid gear would start off as superior. Remove etheric light from POE but update the rewards. Then have etheric light drop anywhere in the Kings fall raid (At least 2 etheric light per boss but it won't drop all the time). That way it will continue to make you want to complete the old raids and get the old gear so you can infuse them with etheric but only playing the TTK content. That way vanilla dark below and how content won't be worthless and at the same time won't get in the way of the new content. The etheric light will only be used to bring year 1 legendaries to year 2. They can keep the same infusion of exotics through legendary marks but you still have to discover them.
