The Darkness is the fundamental laws that govern us- it is the law of the jungle in its purest form. It grants power to those that support its rule. The battle between the Deep and the Sky has been going on since the dawn of time, therefore it cannot be us (because we humans have yet to make it to Mars, let alone the Gas Giant of the pre-Hive)
