I think this will open more opportunities for a more enriched story and overall game itself the teen rating limits the amount of creativity the game developers can implement into the game which I think is also a big factor to why destiny's story is so lacklustre. Hopefully they realise their mistake and make destiny 2 mature rated, I also want to state that the teen rating isn't why the story isn't so good, bungie slack of storytelling and cut out content may be a factor to why the story is bad as well, though improved in TTK it's still not good.

Edit: blood and gore doesn't make a game 18 rated it's much more than just swearing and blood.
-
Two things: 1. If you add actual blood into the game instead of the oil(?) from the cabal and ether from the fallen: I feel like the the enemies and especially the hive would be kinda terrifying 2. Swearing? I feel like funny anger in the game is a lot better than swearing. I would rather hear Eris Morn saying she'll try not to step on Cayde's head than Cade calling Eris something like a female dog that came from the hive

Leaked concept art of Destiny 2
That's if she comes back in time.
-
I could care less. Rating doesn't necessarily make a game better or worse
-
The kids are gonna get it anyway, so who cares? Just look at CoD
-
Less squeakers= Solution to Canada's plummeting economy.
-
Also it will keep the the cod kiddies away
-
The contract between Activision and Bungie states that each iteration of Destiny must be T for Teen. Unless the contract changes, the future Destiny installments will all be T.

Next destiny rated ao. Mara sov naked is what everyone wants lets be honest.
-
Mara better go topless then ... just saying Awoken Gone Wild !!!!
-
It will also improve the community

Edited by Senor Crouch: 11/13/2015 8:17:00 AMI'm afraid I have to disagree with you. You are incorrectly attempting to link "good, engaging story/narrative" with "ERSB Rating". I have grounds in this respect, being a storywrite myself. According to the ERSB.org database, a game is labeled "M for Mature" under the conditions that a video game contains "intense violence, blood and gore, sexual content and/or strong language." Whereas a meaningful and engaging story needs not these things, rather they require conveyance, emotion, narrative, motivation, context, interaction, themeing, and an understanding of the human psyche. Let's take a look at some example of games with timeless stories that weren't rated M. - Final Fantasy (The Franchise) - Earthbound - Prince of Persia: Sands of Time - Chrono Trigger So while a game with a good story can be rated M, do not fall under the fallacy that a game must be rated M for there to be a good story in it. It is misconceptions like these that will only further take the game industry down the path it is currently on with regards to story elements. The industry, in its current state, seems to equate good story to "lots of cool/violent action scenes" and/or "shock value". For someone like myself, I find their mentality on the subject to be borderline offensive.

i just want assassinations.
-
I would like it if it was, but then my mom wouldn't let me play it. I all fine with blood and gore and cussing. But she isn't. It really sucks. Looking forward to moving out.

By the amount of kids in CoD, I don't think a m rating would make the slightest difference
-
How about we just keep the under 18 from using comms or posting on the forums? Bam. Signed.
-
Lol never gonna happen
-
"Online interactions not rated by the ESRB"
-
It needs to be rated NC17 so we can see Variks have ether and chill with Petra, lol.
-
What would be better? The Kotor games had spectacular storytelling and still were rated T. A game is never rated M because of deep storytelling.
-
Because of the way it is I let my 7 year old have his own character. I think it's just fine without needing anything further towards M.
-
Never! Why M rated? Better story? May be. More realistic? May be. Gore and blood? May be. Coarse language? May be. Sexuality nudity? May be. Less sale because smaller group of consumer? Good luck convincing Bungie and Activision on making less profit.
-
Less parents will let their annoying luttle squeakers get the game then and we wont have to deal with crybaby little kids
-
I laugh at all the people that are saying that an M rating would make it better and get rid of squeakers. Have these people not played an M rated game with multiplayer in the last 10 years?

Well fallout 4, an M rated game is shitting all over Destiny and its playerbase so i guess you're right, M rated would be better for doing your daily chores in Destiny 2.
-
So I can't play m rated stuff cuz my parent don't understand an m rated game that isn't gta isn't to bad so it has a bad story not bcuz it's rated t it's bungie fault for slacking so ur dumb post is stopping me from playing with my real only friend bcuz he can play m rated I can't so and less people will buy it less kids but same adults pretty much cuts profit in half so it's a bit stupid to think one thing bcuz you don't understand is causing a big problem and making it m rated is a big fuk you to ppl like me and my friends
