I think this will open more opportunities for a more enriched story and overall game itself the teen rating limits the amount of creativity the game developers can implement into the game which I think is also a big factor to why destiny's story is so lacklustre. Hopefully they realise their mistake and make destiny 2 mature rated, I also want to state that the teen rating isn't why the story isn't so good, bungie slack of storytelling and cut out content may be a factor to why the story is bad as well, though improved in TTK it's still not good.

Edit: blood and gore doesn't make a game 18 rated it's much more than just swearing and blood.

I want more blood. A mixture of destiny and dying light would be perfect!

I'm white trash and I'm in trouble

Edited by Yakson5: 11/12/2015 7:37:18 AMWhy do people keep saying things like "kids will still buy it" Do they not get the point of the post or something? No one is talking about actual audience, it's about developer freedom
-
Ikr Parts of the game like the story and trading economy system were cut out because it would make the game M rated so it would be harder for kids and teens to get it so they wanted to make more money and cut out the "confusing" economy and story Even my 12 year old nephew understands that if something like say a legendary auto rifle that would 100% chance drop on a strike would be lowly priced
-
I don't understand what difference it makes.
-
What difference does it make? Kids will still play it. Look at GTA
-
Lol OP is also a taken tot
-
No because 18+ is R rated and for explicit or super gory. M rated would sufice for direction they want to take the story and doesnt come with any stigma that might dent the sales
-
OP is a Taken Tot
-
Yes. The t rated brought it down imo.

Edited by SpeckTech: 11/12/2015 7:07:53 AMI'd rather not have it banned on consoles.

Your profile shows you're a taken toddler. Op is a hypocrite

Blame religion.. if stupid people did not fear science. Then we would be 1000 years more advanced right now... also there would be a lot less wars... #logic

Even If It Was Rated Mature There Would Still Be Squeakers Playing It Just Like CoD
-
I'm be down with that, but bungie would never do that. If they did that they may risk losing the younger players simply because there parents won't buy them an M rated game.
-
Blood, gore, swearing, and sex. That's what makes a game M. None of these things have any relevance whatsoever to a good story.
-
Won't happen sadly. This game is a success for them as a teen rated game, that wouldnt match at a higher rating.
-
They would have to recall all discs because it's not T for teen anymore
-
You can have M for mature 18+ to buy, but the M means Mommy bought it for me because every M rated game i have ever bought has had squeakers in multiplayer

Edited by Raza582: 11/12/2015 3:55:04 AMNext Destiny to be current gen only, at least then it won't be held back as much. We all know Bungie will choose money over making their customers happy though so this is wishful thinking at best.
-
I just want Shaxx let it out, it feels likes he's been holding out on cussing a lot
-
It's all about money. If the game is M for mature you are possibly excluding a major section of gamers (17 and under) which in turn means less money. I'm positive if they created Destiny 2 and it was given an M rating Bungievision would do anything to get it dropped to a T. Either way they would have to add offensive language, sexuality, and maybe drug and alcohol references to even be considered M and those don't even fit into Destiny given the launch that is Destiny 1. I mean maybe if they bloodied up the combat but again, they are striving for the T rating so they wouldn't do that. If you think about your enemies in Destiny vs Halo they're very similar except there's actual blood shown in Halo where in destiny I guess it shows decompression of their helmet when you headshot? I'm not sure but there's little to no blood in it.
-
Needs to be M so Bungie can show the true darker side of the lore in Destiny and we can get an actual story, while we are at it they should ditch last gen as well
-
I hope they make the story much deeper, but I don't want sex and gore, just doesn't suit destiny. Bit of blood ok.
and why the blam! Does sex have to be in a game?
First define what makes a game rated M
-
I hope they can eventually recreate the same feeling of terror you got fighting the Flood. Those were the good ol' days. I would flinch every time the floor squeaked during CE's swamp level.
