Destiny was rated T so more people would buy it. I know most kids have their parents buy their m rated games
But a large group of teens dont. Making destiny rated T was to get more income.

I think before release it was initially meant to be mature and that's why I think some developers left I don't know the details but some or even the majority of the sort was left out because of the teen rating
