Black spindle is still a lot better if you have it.
But the vanguard 1000 yard stare is still useful if you want to use touch of malice, no time to explain,sleeper simulant or something else.
Also it's aim assist is OP in crucible.

Base aim assist is middle of the road 1000 yard stare I learned, but pair it with the right scopes and perks and it can be rather high.
