Be honest about it. From at least my experience, most people would rather take the time to teach you than to spend hours on LFG looking for someone to replace you or randomly messaging everyone in their friends list. What they don't like is a liar and that is usually why they kick people over this. There are some elitists that would rather get it done quickly than take their time and teach others how to raid, but that is on them. Most people will however know when you are bullshitting. If need be watch some videos that explain how each part works as well, because this will also help when they are explaining each part and things will click more rapidly. Teaching and learning are all things we should try to do in the community. The more people that know how to run the raid the faster you can find parties and the faster you can get the activities done.
