If you had the chance to become a genetically augmented super soldier ( master chief ) or a guardian, which would you choose?
I'm bored. Everyone on base is talking about ISIS ( -blam!- Isis ) and I wana change the topic of discussion for a bit.
I'd choose master chief. All the way. #GoChief

Here's the thing. Spartans, namely Spartan II's are extremely proficient warriors. Of you take ghost reviving out of the equation, man for man a Spartan II is far above a guardian. That said, Spartan II's are kidnapped as children, underwent mental and physical training that would be considered brutal to adult, and indoctrinated to be the perfect soldier imaginable, robbing them of a large part of their humanity. By the time augmentation is done Spartans are less soldier and more just a thinking weapon. I'll take space magic and retention of my humanity over being s better soldier any day.

Master Chief (and all Spartans) we're kidnapped as children and forced to undergo extremely painful augmentation that most of them died from or became permanently crippled. They are also asexual. I'll stick with the space magic.

From what ive played of the halo games i reckon master chief prob gets lonely. Id rather be a guardian simply so i got to chat with cayde, maybe have a smoke/drink and a game of poker with him.

2 RepliesWell... Being a guardian means you are essentially immortal, with "magic" powers and you don't have to sleep, eat, pee, or shit. But your whole life is combat or training for combat. Being a Spartan is more like the military lifestyle you are probably accustomed to. Bad chow, little sleep, missing family, combat and training for combat. But you would be the baddest ass around. I like eating, but sleep is a waste of time. I like having magic powers but my favorite superhero is Batman for a reason. So I dunno. They both have up- and down sides. Based on what I've seen so far it looks like the ladies in the universe of Destiny are just a little bit hotter so that may be a determinant (if Mara Sov came with the deal, then sign me up for the Guardian life).
