The bounty board, now empty, suddenly blares with an insanely huge job. A 10,000,000 credit bounty for the head of the late president's assassin. There is also a measly buy in of 2000 credits. Every mercenary company will hunt for this, maybe even battle eachother to get that level of reward. That, of course, does not exclude Cyprus.
Joshua calls everyone to the war room for an announcement.
"Now, friends, I realize we've all been very excited for the appearance of this job, but I just want to bring to the attention that we recently had hitmen, or maybe spies, target us. We have a little bit to go on."
He has a prisoner brought in, in hardlight shackles.
"Now, I need to know what others discovered on their missions, and how we will deal with this issue."

I walk in and sit down and put my feet up on the table "Why should I really care?"
-
"Money. For more exotic alcohol."
-
I chuckle "I have more than enough of both of those things already, kid."
-
"Doesn't hurt to have more."
-
"A lotta upstarts thought the way you did. Notice the past tense."
-
"Whatever. Life's too short to worry."
-
I chuckle "Whatever you say, kid. That'll change eventually."
-
Jack walked into the room "Damn, that's a lot of credits."
-
"Tell me about it." He flips a 50k credit coin. "Got this from those other mercs. Should cover the teams buy in." He leans back, still flipping the coin. "But really, who would want to assassinate this guy? Almost a unanimous vote."
-
Jack paced back and forth for a moment. Pondering the possibilities. "He nearly won with 100% of the votes, meaning most people wanted him as president. The other citizens couldn't have possibly taken action upon this, they know the consequences. Or perhaps it was the other runner, or maybe a guy on the inside."
-
He nods his head a bit. "Maybe, they aren't releasing much to the public. Rumors say the entire building was slaughtered, in under a few minutes. Whatever or whoever it is, it's nasty."
-
He stopped for a second. "The entire building slaughtered in minutes? Hmm, that can't be one man. Either a team of specialized forces who really didn't like him or someone hired these guys or both." He pondered every possibility.

-
"Who could do such a thing in a matter of minutes?" He started to think of all of the past foes he has encountered with the fire team.
-
"I've got a hunch..." He looks a bit aloof in thought.
-
"let me guess, we know him, right?"
-
"Him, it, her, we've probably encountered them at some point."
-
"Who do you have in mind then?"
-
"Call it hunch, but... Were you around back when that planet got razed, and that city destroyed?"
-
"Yeah, I believe so."
-
"Afterwards, we were never really sure why the beast died so quickly and easily once encountered... Maybe it's because it didn't die at all. We did find it to be rather on the sentient side..."

-
Edited by Murph Tha Smurf: 11/17/2015 11:29:00 PM"Where? The crime scene, or that destroyed planet? Both are fairly far from here."
-
"I could get to both within an hour, but I'll have to choose one then rest for a while then head to other. I would be using hell portals to get around but it'll take up a lot of power of its far."
-
Edited by Murph Tha Smurf: 11/17/2015 11:46:03 PM"I'd say check the planet first, then come back. I want to get clearance for the crime scene so the whole group can check it out, and not be pressed for time as it's likely on lockdown."
