"Our elders teach that long ago, the forest ruled these lands. The trees walked and talked and the plants ran rampant with power. According to this same legend, all life on this planet arose from the same tree. When this tree died, a single sapling was left in its wake. To protect this sapling while it grew to its prime, the forest grew around us, leaving shrines at the four corners of the forest. These shrines are said to be the key to the hidden path that holds the sapling. If each one is given a specific offering, the path is said to open."
[b]He drinks more tea.[/b]
"Also, it is said a chosen one will arrive, and only they will be able to progress into the hidden path. What that exactly means, I do not know."
[b]He takes another sip.[/b]
"The ones who came before you, each took a different entrance, North, East, West, and South. I fear they've met a terrible fate. Please do not end up the same."

[b]vaaxius gets up and shakes her head[/b] "This forest is trying to kill me off, it won't happen until I know the truth of the place." [b]vaaxius begins to walk again[/b]

[b]You think you see roots moving in front of you, and begin to do many double takes. The trees waver as if there is a windstorm, yet there is not even a breeze.[/b]

"Ok, listen, I'm friendly. I'm not here to harm the forest."
-
[b]You get no response, and trip on a root soon after.[/b]

[b]vaaxius yelps as she falls, landing in her face[/b]
-
[b]She looks up to see the trees seemingly aiming to fall on top of her.[/b]

[b]vaaxius scrambles as she begins to get up and run, trying to dodge the trees[/b]
-
[b]She spots a shrine with burning candles about 50 feet off.[/b] [b]A slow voice speaks from the trees.[/b] "O u r o f f e r i n g . . ."

"Do you wish to have my blood as a offering?" [b]vaaxius runs to it while bringing out a dagger[/b]

[b]"N o w ."[/b]

[b]vaaxius reaches the shrine and cuts her hand, looking for where the blood should go[/b]

[b]There is a chalice in the center.[/b]

[b]vaaxius walks over to it and holds her hand out, letting the blood fall into it[/b]
-
[b]The trees begin to retreat, but you hear the voice again.[/b] "M o r e . . ."

"Fine, I'll do so." [b]vaaxius makes the cut bigger, letting more of the crimson liquid fall into the chalice[/b]
-
"G o . . ."

[b]vaaxius bandages the cut and begins to look for a path to another shrine[/b]

[b]The other paths start back in town.[/b] [spoiler]trying not to spoil much, but this isn't going to be a tedious 4 time repeat thing, just so you know.[/spoiler]

[spoiler]great, that would have been annoying[/spoiler] [b]vaaxius begins to walk to town, she knew how to handle everything now[/b]

[b]She sees a crown of people around the bar.[/b]

[b]vaaxius decides to visit the man who gave her information about the forest[/b]

[b]She walks in, seeing a few men dragging out the bartender's body.[/b]

"What happened here?" [b]vaaxius looks at the body, wondering what happened to him[/b]
-
[b]He has three bulletholes in his chest, and his pistol is out of its holster beside him.[/b] [b]A man taking the body speaks up.[/b] "That drunk cracked I guess. You think with all the time he spent here they'd have been friends... And where did he get a gun?"

"Shit...... It's my fault that he's dead. I gave the drunk one of my guns as a thank you for the information. Where is he?"
