Saber News Stories 11/11/15

Welcome back to another week of Saber News Stories. Last week we talked about the not so triumphant return of Trials of Osiris and it being plagued by lag as well as poor matchmaking quality. We also talked about a certain group of Guardians called the Elitists controlling LFG. Finally an election for King of Destiny was held, results will be posted at the end of this broadcast. Well this week you are in for a treat as we introduce a couple of new products hitting the shelves soon, making perfect Thanksgiving and Christmas gifts. And we will also be covering something that has many Guardians very distraught. Yes we are talking about the Nightfall rewards. First let’s start off with the dreadful Nightfall rewards. In the most recent update Bungie stated that they understood us Guardians disdain towards the Nightfall reward system. With the new style of Nightfall creating more difficult situations and increased overall difficulty yet extremely underwhelming rewards such as legendries below 280 and what not Guardians felt the rewards were poor beyond the effort required to complete the strike. In the update Bungie claimed they fixed the reward system to yield better rewards including Ghost Shells now. While it may be true the rewards were increased as well as level increased on weapons and armor Guardians still feel the same way as before. This is due to the fact that many Guardians have better gear they obtained from Raids essentially making Nightfall rewards useless yet again. A clear fix to this problem could be to introduce a rewards system that gives you items based off your light level. An example could be let’s say you have a 308 Ghost Shell, well the reward given should be a Ghost Shell 308 or higher so to speak. While many Guardians don’t feel the need to complete the Nightfall others still do just for the hell of it. Hopefully Bungie will maybe rework the reward system a little more in the near future. Our next order of business is two products perfect for the holidays hitting shelves very soon in stores near you. Are you tired of those pesky Thrall or Dreg bugging you while you are trying to have some outdoor fun with the family? Well let me present to you the Stormcaller Bug Zapper 2.0. You may ask why 2.0 or what happened to the first iteration. Well the first one was known as the Deluxe Striker Zapper and incidentally was known to cause more craters than zap these pests. This 2.0 zapper creates a small lightning storm in a fifteen foot radius electrocuting those pesky Thrall and Dreg. It is non-lethal to human and feels more like a tickle to us although please keep all pets and Ghosts as far away as possible while the zapper works its magic. After the initial lightning storm finishes, a very fine electrical barrier forms covering a forty square foot area to prevent further intrusions from pests for a 6 hour period. Contains a rechargeable battery and a single charge is good for about six uses. Retail price is a convenient $35.89 and product is also weatherproof. Our second product is definitely going to be the Hottest product hitting the shelves at a very Tasty price. Is your grill just not cutting it anymore for those big family gatherings or barbecues? Tired of your meat not cooking properly or burning easily? Well all that will be a thing of the past with the brand new Sunbreaker Grill King Deluxe. This grill uses the power of the Sun to heat three cooking shelves to pristine conditions so that any food is cooked evenly and all the way through. Smart technology and touch screen display allow for specific cooking criteria to be input which allows the food to be cooked fully. Quickcool Ions allow the grill to cool down in mere seconds when not in use to prevent injuries from people who may pass by or curious children. This product can survive the harshest of weather and time allowing it to stay in great condition for years with little maintenance. It possesses self-cleaning mechanics so the only thing you have to do is empty the grease pan every few months. Owning one of these bad boys will make you the hottest guy... Or girl on the block. Retail price is $89.99 and is simple to assemble. Our final story is the results for the King of Destiny elections. We had four candidates throw their names out for the chance to be King. According to the votes cast there was one candidate who won by a landslide. Allow me to congratulate Destiny's new King Randal the Vandal with 63% of the vote, Xur came in 2nd with 17%, Oryx 13%, and Skolas 7%. Unfortunately we could not speak with him nor any other candidate to get their input over the results. Spokespersons for both Skolas and Oryx did send us letters that we cannot say on air but they were most definitely not happy and felt it was rigged. No guys you just weren’t popular... Maybe if you wouldn’t try to kill your voters you just might be popular. And if you gave better rewards for hard work (cough) Oryx (cough). We did get a statement from Xurs spokesperson if you could call him mumbling "his will is not his own" a statement. Not sure how that would have fared having a king controlled by others. In other news Bungie has confirmed that the Weapon Parts famine will soon be over and we will be able to purchase them from Banshee-44 for glimmer. Etheric Light will also be relevant again though no details have been given yet. And finally some skepticism over whether Sunbreakers will have their knees blown out by the Bungie Nerf Bat have also risen with the update last week. Stay tuned for more details as we get them in next week. Well that’s all we have for this week’s Saber News Stories.
