I've never bothered with the trans community because the majority of the ones I talked with seemed genuinely mentally ill or were far too into identity politics or feminism for me to support them in ways other than equal rights, anti-discrimination, and anti-bullying which got me on their bad side because a good number of them thought all 3 were connected. I've only started wondering lately if some of this is from mental illness and it was started because of things from outside the trans community like otherkin and people cutting off their own limbs because they don't feel like they should be attached to their bodies(wish I was making this up but apparently these clearly mentally ill people are getting support). I'm far from making my mind up on the topic but I feel like days like this do nothing but divide based on what we are. While the sentiment is nice I have mixed feelings about days like this in general regardless of what group it is because I've always thought someone's murder is terrible regardless of motive.
