That shit has got to be NOT working the way it's supposed to be because I can't count the number of times tonight in iron banner that I've seen mother-blam!-ers red bar the ENTIRE DAMN MATCH.
Edit 1: for the silly people that think I'm talking about getting kicked for being red bar for a short time (and it NOT being due to a lag switch): that's not at all what I'm talking about.
And I'm positive bungie could see who the one person is that's screwing most or all of the match up, and kick that one person.
But when shit like 1-3 people are solid red bar the entire damn match? That's when kicking absolutely should happen, and if network monitoring figures its you with your $10 internet - well sorry, not sorry.
Lag -blam!-s whole games over and it's not everyone else's fault you have crappy internet.
-
You obviously don't know anything about networks. Plus there are people who are limited in their choice of providers. I know of few who can't get better because what they have is the best they can get and/or afford.
some people got this thing called a budget, shocker I know.
A bot in the room that watches players, if your connection is constantly dropping and rising kick them and temporarily ban them. 3× kicks = permanent ban damn bungie, what are all the programmers for?

Edited by Slackerr_26: 11/23/2015 3:40:22 AMYou do realize somebody who is showing redbar can have a perfectly sufficient connection and is no way lagging or affecting the game, right? The reverse is also opposite, you can be showing green yet you have a potato connection speed. Even with a whole lobby of green bars you can still experience severe lag. You also can't forget that players aren't separated out by regions online, so you can have two people, both with perfect internet, but one lives in Hawaii and the other lives in England. Of course there will be lag, that's just the nature of playing on a P2P gaming setup. Just don't automatically assume that every single redbar is a problem and messing the game up for other players.
-
1. No dedicated servers. 2. Matches based on skill level rather than ping (data transfer speed) 3. P2P networks which are slower, and less stable than than dedicated servers. 4, People may choose to fireteam up with people who live on the other side fo the -blam!-ry----or in some cases the other side of the world. So there are MANY reasons why you may experience lag, or someone else have a poor connection than the quality of that person's internet.
-
I've played loads where everyone was green and the lag was ridiculous. When I die people's connection change, then go back to green. Its like Bungie is actively hiding the real connection from players, which I wouldnt be surprised to be the case at this point.
-
Yes please, waste my £100+ spent on this game by refusing to let me access a significant portion of the game. I live in the Scottish countryside where I physically CAN'T get better internet than <1MB/S, shame on me!

Agree bump
-
-
It's not internet that's the problem it's connecting with people in other regions. This is why everyone wants dedicated servers.
-
Lemme guess, these "laggers" follow you everywhere you go and that is why your kd sucks
-
People bitching cause their getting there content ruined by lag when its half bungie's fault for not having servers but the fact is those laggers while have the content fully ripped away from them as well as a couple exotics. Im sorry but thats bullshit
-
Bungie uses a lag compensation algorithm to level the playing field .. Internet latency varies moments to moment as upload and download speeds fluctuate.. Much like your standing in the shower and the sprinklers kick on.. You might have a green bar but your on a broad band network .. If 40 people on your hop suddenly jump on Netflix your ping can drop below acceptable levels.. You could have the best internet in the world but your not exclusive on your network.. You could take the algorithm out and be all so happy until you run into somebody with a better internet connection that you .. Then it's not about gear or tactics or anything .. It's only about your ping
-
I always have red bar because I can't afford better internet how would it be fair to ban someone for a red bar?
-
Edited by J Stevensontown: 11/23/2015 6:30:24 AMP2p, Bungie dgaf or their hands are tied - edit - $60 a month 60-80 mbps. Hard wired. Red bar occasionally. That's my fault? We pay to get banned lol
-
"Oh, your roommates on netflix and you don't know it? Permanently banned from PvP" are you stupid? a freaking BAN?
-
Here here - report and if chronic BAN
-
I agree 100%
-
Bungie does ban for bad connection
-
Mmmmm your jimmies are rustled
-
Harsh for red bar not everyone has great internet you know
-
Titanfall did it the best way. You cheat or have bad connection you get matched with other cheaters or bad connections players. You hang with a group that has bad connection or who cheat you get put into that group of red bars or cheaters.
-
I think after 10 seconds of red connection someone should be kicked from a game.
-
Why the entire crucible doesn't operate under year one trials matchmaking is beyond me. Like I live in an area where there's only one ISP and they blow chunks but I still had smooth amazing matches in year one trials. Even in cod/halo/battlefield I have consistently good connections to the game. Destiny? Especially in iron banner? I'm redbar every game. Sometimes I'm the Lag Champion and sometimes I'm the "gets sniped through a wall five minutes after I killed someone". It's miserable and I have no idea what I can do.
-
You can't ban people for lagging or having bad connection when they refuse to invest in dedicated servers.
-
We had a trials match where they were green bar, and then out of nowhere they would teleport and shot gun us with red bars. Sound like lag switching?
