I actually agree with op:
Normal raid/Iron Banner - 310 max
Hard raid/Trials - 320 max
It just makes sense.

It does just make sense. It's very simple, yet most are defending IB because they can't complete the other challenges. It's like the Staples "easy" button.

I've gone flawless in trials, beat every raid (but crota) on hard. I would rather have to beat hard raid anyway then have to play IB

Why? Takes 1:30-2 hours to beat raid on hard, takes double that to hit rank 5 IB....AND it's PvP which is more of a grind then PVE any day of the week

Can you do the hard mode raid at LL 260 or whatever the minimum requirement was for Iron Banner? No. You would need a solid team to take you through it at 290. Same for Trials. Iron Banner level 5 can be reached in 2-3 hours on the last day. I appreciate that your time comparison is valid but I consider skill and LL to be more relevant in this particular equation.
