Well I'm not going to attempt to argue because you have a title and in this community a title apparently means you're above everyone else in every way and no matter how illogical your arguments MAY BE, you'll have the community on your side.
First off, that's nonsense. I might have a title, and other people might view me as someone above others, but I myself do not. I am a regular bnet user, and a regular player, just like everyone else. And you can argue with me however you want. But if people start to argue with you then, that's your beer. To be honest, I do actually agree with you, kind of. I know there is no perfectly logical way for me to explain why I bought myself some silver (as a sidenote here, another user let me remember that I did not buy the Bow emote since we got free silver. But I bought some Treasures of the Lost). Thing here is, not everything or everyone needs a logical reason. I don't have to justify why I bought some digital items. I could ask you now: why did you buy Destiny? Why are you on these forums? Why did you create this thread? What would be a logical reason to buy an digital item? Why did you gave yourself the task of trolling and/or arguing with people? You might can figure out quite logical reasons for these questions... but there also is a simple answer to all of them. And it's also the answer to many, many more questions, including why I spend $20 on digital items. (TL;DR) This answer is, in fact, the most logical and illogical reason of all: because we wanted to.
