As this is a villian chapter, it may be a bit gruesome than usual. Also all rights and reserves to Dark Souls belong to their respective owners
The trio made their way down the long corridor to a large open room. It had a set of stairs and a large door at the end. Two Hive structures were on either side of it as rotating platforms circled around them.
"So what do we do now?" Arty asked.
Ciaran ran an algorithm and spoke. "I belive we have to activate the two locks on each side to open the gate."
Sif grunted and trotted over to the left side.
"Well alright then..." Artorias made his way to the right. He jumped on to the rotating platforms with ease and landed on the platform. He hopped up to the strange Hive system and held out Ciaran. "Work your magic."
She floated around the object, scanning it several times. "This is almost too easy." A loud audible click rang through the open room as Ciaran ported over to Sif and did the same on the other side. The door in the center slide open with ease. The trio made their way back to the center.
"Well that wasn't so bad." Artorias stared to walk us as Sif's ears perked up once more. He growled as a silver glowing Knight made its way out of the door. It held a massive crystal like sword. It stared at Artorias and growled, pointing the tip of its sword at him.
Arty grinned and drew his own sword. "I call this one." He charged forward as did the Knight. Steel clashed against crystal as the two tried to hack at each other. Despite being very clumsy, the Knight was extremely strong and quick for someone of his size as he easily forced Artorias back and into a more defensive position.
He grunted. "Why do all these sword guys have to be so difficult to deal with!"
Ciaran spoke to him in his head. "Are you saying you are losing?"
"No! I'm saying they are so..." He ducked and managed to swing the sword with all his might into the neck of the Knight. "Stubborn!" The blade cut clean through as the head rolled off of the Knights shoulders and sickly colored blood gushed out of its wound as the body fell over.
Artorias sighed and wiped his blade clean before storing it away. "See? Just stubborn."
Ciaran laughed. "I feel you were struggling with him a bit."
"I was not."
Sif growled in defiance and trotted through the open door.
"Hey I killed him! He wasn't a problem." Artorias followed.
"Well he isn't anymore but he was for a while."
"Oh clam it you two..." The walked past several more rooms until they finally reached a chamber with lots of strange steel boxes that hung from chains on the ceiling. Many rattled and shook occasionally as strange screams and muffled voices came from them. Artorias looked around. "Looks like we are in the right place." They walked past the room to come to a control panel and a large bridge that lead over nothingness. The gigantic prisons swung from equally massive chains in the long corridor of darkness.
Ciaran appeared and looked at the control panel. She scanned it slightly. "This seems to be able to move..."
Sif lied down and rested his head on his leg, seemingly bored.
"Well can you get it to move? And find the prison for Alak-Hul while you are at it."
Ciaran floated for a while before turning back to Artorias. "I honestly think you should give up on this quest."
"What makes you say that?"
"This is dangerous and reckless!"
"I've faced Darkness before."
"But nothing this dark..."
"Ciaran, I appreciate the concern but I need to find out more about the Void, and the Darkness is one step past it."
"That isn't how it works!"
"But if I could control it... I would be more powerful than anyone else. I could save countless lives with this."
"Or kill yourself trying!"
"Its a risk I must take."
Ciaran watched him as her shell slowly spun leaving slight golden trails behind. "Alright..." She looked back at the panel and scanned it. The bridge began to move slowly down the long rows of darkness. The trio made their way down the narrow path as the bridge slowed to a stop at a smaller prison, compared to the others. Artorias walked through the open door way as three cell doors surrounded a little courtyard, leading down to utter black below.
Artorias looked down the one straight ahead. "This is it right?"
"Yes...."
He nodded. Sif joined his side but Artorias stopped him. "Not today buddy, stay up here with Ciaran and find a way to get me out."
Sif wined a bit and Artorias patted his head. "No buts about it."
Sif let his tail drop as he walked back away from the door and sat down, watching him.
Artorias nodded and jumped down, letting the darkness consume him.
