I run both, yet I can clearly see that snipers take much more skill than shotguns. I've been trying to get in the "hype" since shotguns will be close to useless come December. The 1k I use on my hunter has worked beautifully for me, and actually is much more satisfying than running up to them, sliding, and getting the kill.
I used shotguns almost exclusively. I'm not the best at sniping, but I can respect those that use it now.
And no, they're not accurate under fire; the kick is awful unless you have Unflinching.

Edited by Sarogat: 11/27/2015 9:34:27 PMI'd make a poll inquiring the communities thoughts on the accuracy under fire for snipers, but like this poll, the results would be skewed by those defending snipers. (To the community) Honestly, how many times have you been accurately unloading your weapon into a sniper to be rewarded with a round through the teeth? My answer: Significantly more often than I should have.
