Exploration = Playtime - 3 things you can do, Bungie, that don't involved creating whole new areas

The Dreadnaught offered a whole new explorable area, and that was one of the Taken King's main selling points. Exploration is a good way to keep people playing, and Bungie doesn't even have to create new patrol areas to do it. The amount of current real-estate is staggering. We don't realize it cause of sparrows and because we didn't have to fight for it, but that's another topic. If Bungie managed what they have, it could add hours of gameplay. Why? 1. Because people love to go places. 2. And they love to see those places from different angles. 3. They love to discover stuff in the places we go. I think Bungie has realized this with the Dreadnaught. So based on those three facts, here are the three things Bungie can do to flesh out what they got. 1.De-wall and open it up. A friend and I spent hours one time in the Black Garden simply because one of the areas wasn't completely walled off and we jumped around just looking. People like to go places and to view them from different angles, especially up high. De-wall. The Cosmodrome, Venus and Mars are a maze of invisible walls and turn-back-or-die areas. Some of the walls make no sense whatsoever. Let us climb on buildings, structures and old abandoned bridges. Open up some of the buildings for us to dig around in. Connect them so that there's more than one way to the same area. Let us snipe from the old rail track ruins in The Divide. Let us go in the buildings in the Shattered Coast. 2. Reward players for wanting to experience your game. Don't punish them. You're missing a huge opportunity here. Create special chests that can only be found in buildings on Venus or in the Divide in old Russia that give 100 weapons parts, or that give special parts to an exotic. Gold chests that give 10 of a material. Make the locations random like other chests. Hunting is fun, if the rewards are worth it and if the environment is interesting. My favorite is the Cosmodrome. Let us in and on top of those buildings. Made specific material unique to specific areas. The gold chest with weapons parts is only found in the Divide. The chest with special exotic components for a weapon is only found in a formerly inaccessible part of the academy. 3. Expand what you have. You already started this, but it was mainly cut content, so people could glitch into it. You have areas that people can only look at that are a jump away on Venus, Earth and Mars. Open them up. The island with buildings on the Shattered Coast. The ship out in the water on the Forgotten Shore. It can't be harder than creating a whole new area. Adding them to the DLC will give the DLCs more value. But don't just tie it to DLC. Do it randomly on an update too. A new place is a new place, and discovering something new inside of something old can be as exciting as a whole new area. Old Russia, which we've scoured every inch of, got exciting when the War Bunker was discovered. Just some ideas to think about that can breath fresh life into the game, but keep in mind, if you release this stuff at too slow a rate, people will stop caring.. it can and will happen, Bungie. Don't take it for granted.
