Shotguns can be fun but don't require a lot of skill. Sniping doesn't necessarily take a lot either unless you're quickscoping or using one in close range or while being very mobile....so it's basically situational.
Fusions take a good amount of skill because you have to know your weapon and its charge, projectile speed, range...and then be able to be ahead of your opponent with that shot. It's A TON of fun using a fusion but requires practice, especially because they're not all that great right now.
