I love Golden gun and I'm certainly more lethal with it in PvP than any other super, including hammers.
I also do pretty well in the raid with Nighthawk.

Nighthawk is perhaps the best thing for gunslingers in pve. Otherwise you're just popping off three minor enemies and dropping minimal orbs. Golden gun is useful in pvp but I feel I've had better chances killing a bunch of people at once with blade dancer and supporting my team with nightstalker.
