I have kept all my old weapons because I just liked them all alot but now finding a weapon I like is horrible, hopefully sometime we will be able to use them again.

Yes, bring back etheric light, make the first one easy to get and others much harder than in HoW, that's cool. But at least give us the option!!

Guys I found the solution to destiny. Stop playing if you don't like it. This dry period of destiny has lost my interest so I stopped playing so much. When a new DLC comes out that you want to play just hop on the moving train. The gear you grinded for in the past will never matter. All you have to do is complete the story, quests, raids, and few crucible matches here and there then there is no need to play anymore until more content is released.

19 RepliesGlad to see I’m not the only person who is still bugged by this issue. This is one of my biggest concerns with Destiny right now, and the one that has turned away my friends from continuing to play this game. I get that MMOs do this sort of ‘refreshing’ thing every few months, but why couldn’t we have JUST ONE GAME where thats different? And us FPS players aren’t noobs to this concept, COD and Battlefield are constantly releasing new games that immediately reset your progress to 0% if you want to play them (yet it’s almost the exact same game). To me it seems that no one is going to “Become Legend” to anyone but themselves in this game, and gear is the only bit of our guardian’s history that merits any notice by anyone. And since we don’t have any choices in the story of the game, the only option we do have is what gear we use. That history was left behind with the gear when TTK came out. The only hope we have of feeling like true guardians with a history of victory (and not just another face in the player lobby like in COD) is brandishing our 'spoils of war' for all to see. My TDYK from Y1 speaks of my history far better than some ‘exclusive’ shader or emblem that no one cares about. TL:DR The only person we will “Become Legend” to is ourselves. The gear we use isn’t just one of the few choices we get to make in this game, but the only bit of history worth any merit. And that history is being nullified with every expansion that leaves gear behind.

Of course you could argue that they are expecting these "favorite" things to be exotics. And if that's the case then internally they might think that the y2 versions are just that. I like many on here may like exotic items but have a stronger connection to many of the y1 legendaries that separate you from the rest.

2 RepliesDear bungie: Please justify us earning and upgrading guns that we already have. Understandably most ppl are excited to see their favorite exotic gear return in TTK. Personally, im not impressed at all. Im a huge fan of the midal tool , it was one of my very first exotics that i have earned in this game. As a hunter, i wrecked with the mida/ bladedancer/radiant dance machines build. I upgraded the midal and every other exotic in this game THREE TIMES. Now you are asking me to come up with 150 legendary marks and an exotic shard and re upgrade gear that is rightfully mine, why? why even take them away in the first place? Bringing them back is a plus, but why cant we atleast just purchase them for an exotic shard. WHATS THE POINT IN HAVING YEAR ONE AND YEAR TWO WEAPONS WHEN THEY ARE THE SAME GUNS ? SHOULD I EVEN BOTHER GRINDING FOR THESE WEAPONS AGAIN WHEN THERE IS A HIGH POSSIBILITY THAT YOU WILL MAKE US EARN AND UPGRADE THESE GUNS AGAIN IN JANUARY. Do you guys remember apologizing to the community after the release of TDB for making us upgrade all our exotics again and YOU PROMISED THAT YOU GUYS WILL NEVER DO IT AGAIN, YET HERE WE ARE.

Bungie nerfed the old guns, but didn't let us ascend them. Bungie made y1 content useless. Bungie made the decision to leave easy.
