Instanced MMOs have population limits. Yes. That's what makes them instanced. It's rather ingenious. It spreads server and client workload. Lessens it. Limits potential interaction to drive story narratives.

Wow has huge raids. Never played but I'm pretty sure there is like 50 people raids. That's massive. 6v6 and 6 man raids is not massive. It's not a mmo. It is a hybrid at best.

And WoW has instances as small as 5 and as large as 40. Their PvP is 20v20 with teams assembled maxing at 5. And Guild Wars is a fully instanced small-team MMO.
