Did everyone seriously ever expect that with all the future content to come that it was ever a good idea to make vanilla gear up to par with current generation gear indefinitely? seriously think about it, why would anyone care about any future content if they filled up their vaults to the brim with old items that they refuse to let go. I remember getting wooden swords in RPGs that I didn't care about trashing when I got a steel one.
