Look, Bungie/Deej/Cozmo.. You know just like we do that this game is up against the ropes. The Refer A Friend program all but screams desperation. Many of us on these forums (your most dedicated players) were convinced that the announcement of expansion 4 would be made at PSX. Don't get me wrong, sparrow racing league looks like a blast, considering I'm an absolute beast on a sparrow, but a small 3 week event like that is not going to save this game. You need to let us know what the plans are going forward.
The uncertainty of what's to come in Y2 is not doing this game any favors. As soon as vanilla launched last September we knew that we would have TDB to look forward to in early December, with House of Wolves following a few months behind it. We had things to look forward to. We knew the game had more content coming right around the corner. You had no problem telling us this before the game even released so my question to you is this:
Why are you leaving your most dedicated and loyal fans in the dark as to whether we can expect more DLC-level content. We absolutely need to know what the plan is. I know you're not the kind of company that lays it all on the line right off the bat, but it seems like you're doing absolutely nothing to try and keep the players who are on the verge of leaving from doing so. I know there's one day left at PSX, so I beg you this:
PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE PSX WITHOUT AT LEAST TEASING THE NEXT DLC. There just isn't enough relevant content in TTK to keep this game alive until September. Don't get me wrong, TTK is incredible compared to the way things were done in Y1. The story, quests, lore, and overall gameplay is unparalleled to that of Vanilla through HoW. It's just the fact that once TTK went live, we lost the relevance of 2/3 of the content in this game. VoG, which is easily the best raid in this game by a large margin, is utterly pointless to run other than for shits and giggles. Some of the most loved strikes are not available in the LV36/Heroic strike playlists.. Something needs to be announced.
Let me finish with this.. I am certainly not one to bash Bungie or Luke Smith (who, btw, I have been fully supportive of since the whole Eurogamer debacle), and I don't consider this post a 'roast'.. I just want what's best for my favorite game.. And what's best for Destiny right now is to cut the shit and reveal your plans for Y2. If tomorrow and the next weekly update come and go without the announcement of the next expansion, this game is going to slip deeper and deeper into the coma it's about to find itself in.
TL;DR: Cut the vague bullshit and give us some answers. Uncertainty isn't doing this game any favors. At this point we need to know what's going to happen in Y2 before the sequel is released. Please, please, listen to your dedicated fans on this one.
Im sure people will call me a Desticle, but that's fine.. I am a Desticle. This game is my favorite hobby, and I only want to see it live up to its potential. Destiny essentially saved my life and personal relationships, but that story is for another time.
Edit 1: Obligatory "We're Trending" edit
Edit 2: Look, guys.. I don't feel like I'm entitled to anything. I'm not one of those people who expects everything while contributing nearly nothing. This post is constructive criticism. I want nothing more than to see this game grow and reach its full potential. I know many veterans of this game are in agreeance with this post. I have heard far too many people bring up all of these points. I feel that it's fairly obvious from a business perspective that when you are losing customers, you try to give them some insight as to why sticking around will be worth it by showing what's going to be available down the road. I understand that many of you are children who do not know the first thing about business, software development, or programming, so the point of this will fly right over your heads. Keep your negativity to yourself. I am not saying I personally need the things listed, but that bungie needs to do these things if they want to win back their consumers.

Edited by Ghost J34: 12/6/2015 11:36:52 PMGood lord. This is not a sub-based game. Bungie could literally not care less about how many people are playing right now; all that matters is how many people purchase each DLC. They're not giving us info because they simply don't care. It should be exceedingly obvious by now that they're going to milk TTK's content until it's beyond dead - they give as little as possible and sell it for as much as possible. Get used to it.
Edit 1: Obligatory "We're Trending" edit
You're an idiot.

Actually, I used to not be able to leave the game, I had other games in year 1, AW, Hardline, and Arkham Knight, but now, I think this is like rehabilitation, slowly lowering the content until we are able to leave it, and it is working, I was able to leave destiny for a while to play bo3, ac syndicate, and complete the campaigns of my other games, from a business side of view it is a bad idea, but bungie seems to be doing this for a noble cause, and I think microtransactions, refer a friend, the reason taken king is so expensive, all of them are just a way for them to make a living, they don't want that, they want it all for free but they have to live you know.
-
I doubt we will get a dlc anytime soon. TTK has timed exclusives until fall 2016, well at least for playstation. And from what bungie has stated there are 13 challenges in KF and before challenge mode dropped we only completed 5, with challenge mode that should take it to 8 so there are still 5 challenges that hasn't been released yet. Just my opinion but since TTK dropped and the addition of micro transactions, destiny seems to be trending more towards what app games do and just drop events like the Halloween event and now the sparrow league. Oh ya don't forget IB. I played this game non stop from January to June, had a lot of fun but.... I hope they do something soon but I don't see it happening. Hopefully destiny 2 will be good.

Imposter! I'm you only 2025 times more!!

Read "hunter main" and quit reading

This post is assuming Bungie wants people to play destiny non-stop. They don't. They understand that people want to play other games. The effective radio-silence by this company while fallout 4 and black ops came out? Intentional. They know people are going to 'Burn out' if they only play this game for 2 years straight.

I came in expecting a shitpost, but that was pretty on point. We need more posts like thismby people like this.

That's all I want for Christmas :(

Please tell me how Destiny saved your life, I haven't seen a Cringe Compilation in a while.

Was with you until the worn and tired "VOG is the best raid by far" part that's an opinion and I know some do not agree that raid just consumes time wait for the spire to raise wait for enemies to spawn wait for oracles every single round wait for the last relic to appear wait for Minotaurs to stop spawning. If Crotas end was the first raid or even the taken King was the first this post would be so much different let that boring as raid die and no I'm not someone who ran it once and hated it I've got around 70 completions and 101 Crota runs just not a fan of VOG

I have been a player since week one and I honestly think year one was better than TTK because of all the nerfs and the and the forgotten year one stuff
-
At any given time, Bungie does not care how many players are actively playing. You already gave them your money. They could sit on their hands and get that cash cow (Eververse) rolling and let that rake in the dough for them, literally until Destiny 2. Just release little tidbits and silver nonsense. They already got ALL OF THE MONEY. The playerbase could drop to a few thousand players right before Destiny 2 comes out ----> Bungie gets the hype trail rolling with publicity and teases ---> everyone comes back and gives them ALL THE MONEY again, and they'd be find with that. This is not a monthly subscription game, they do not owe you heaps of new content every few months.
-
Meh, go play something else and check the forums once a week for that update that will point you to the following week.

You know someone has to make the content right?

Edited by Finn: 12/6/2015 4:12:56 PMBungie, listen to this man.

They aren't going to release a new DLC, they specifically told us that they would drop mini events and "DLC's" throughout the year until around of Autumn of 2016. They'll probably tease making VoG, CE, and PoE's year 2 at some point but I highly doubt they're going to tease a new DLC.
-
Edited by Rodjenka: 12/6/2015 8:45:52 PMSure they hadn't thought of that and are preparing everything you think you deserve to know right now. They're probably hiring communication experts to correct this massive oversight pointed out to them by Johnny Forum. Obviously they don't have a plan for this and will probably try to hire you. Are you serious?

Agree 100%. I need at least some teasers or something. I need something to get hyped about to keep me playing.

You think that Deej and the other guy have time to read this. They have busy lives. Shorten it by getting directly to the point.

Great post brother.

Edited by Ne0nK0ala: 12/6/2015 10:49:26 PMThere's no need for this game to have endless content, there's also no reason why you should think you are entitled to it. Someone actually has to actually has to make this shit dude. Dlc is a month or two out.
-
Agreed. Thanks for being mature about this whole thing

No, Bungie do not need to do anything you're asking. Is your own fault you went through the already scarce content as fast as you did. You're not entitled to anything. People saying they set a standard on year one with TDB and HoW, have to understand that those DLCs were already done or almost done by the time Destiny was released, so it was easy to set a release date for them. Now on year 2, their main focus is Destiny 2, so fan base should not expect anything big(DLC) for Destiny 1 as frequently as it was in year 1. If you are really a fan, you should understand this things and realize how unnecessary this post is. This is coming from an ex-blinded fan of Destiny(was until HoW came out) that still plays this game on a daily basis. While i don't agree at all with Bungie's business practices, i still can see the bigger picture, through Bungie's point of view, of releasing new DLC at this point. Although releasing sparrow racing at this point may seem as a sign of desperation, it is still a welcomed addition to the game since was suggested as far as beta days goes.
