Wait, you do realize that the Catholic Church was heavily involved in the progress of science for a few hundred years, right? They funded and supported scientists. In fact, it was a priest that first conceived the Big Bang Theory.

For the most part, the Catholic Church isn't opposed to most science. That's a common misconception. A few things, like abortion or stem cell research, are still unsupported, Buffon the most part they have no issue with science...contrary to how so many people try to make it out to be.

The concept of using stem cells or the like (ex: fetuses) goes against church doctrine just as abortion does because it is unnatural and immoral in their eyes. Similar to how they view abortion as unethical.

Im a christian myself. Well in my point of view, god created us with cells and molecule etch. I mean we should be allowed to work on current genes to help ourself out. There is medical herb that we use to threat discease and such, and how did they figure out their potential? EXPERIMENT

Sure, that's fine. I'm talking about the Catholic Church, not all Christian churches. I'm also assuming you aren't Catholic, considering that it's considered wrong to teach something contrary to doctrine. You opinion is yours to have. I'm not disputing that. I'm simply saying that some churches are more flexible than others, and I was talking about Catholics in this case.

Christianity and many other religions have been proven to be debilitating to advancement of human capabilities in science, health, and overall well being of people who don't share similar beliefs. For one, now world famous physicists and inventors like Leonardo DiVinci and Isaac Newton were shunned by the Roman Catholic Church and deemed sinners for believing the world was round and in things like gravity and inertia. Let's look at other things. The Catholic Church is responsible for a large amount of wars both modern and ancient. They are responsible for "witch hunts" and are a large reason why gays couldn't marry in the United States. Even today, Donald Trump runs a fear campaign of Muslim haters and he's winning. His ideals are comparable to that of Hitlers, and will lead this country into the dirt, because he's closed minded and ignorant.

Don't compare the overly obsessed christian to decent living christian that are mainly focussing on the true value of the bible teaching. The sound doctrine teaching about tolerating others belief as we'll all face the almigthy. Soo if somethings happen or if someone do wrong to you, just forgive him and keep going foward with positive thinking. See an atheist? let him be what he want, the lord cleary stated that he gave us freedom of choice. The bible says to spread the love of jésus everywhere and spread his truth? He didnt mean to go and scream out of your lungs "YOU ATHEIST WILL BURN IN HELL, ONLY TROUGTH JESUS CAN YOU BE SAVED". Jesus meant by spreading his word is by showing decency and inconditional love for those you meet. Soo yhea, religion did play a role in social degradation and society problem but lets all not forget that no one knows what lays after death. We might be all wrong after all?
