I have a good, reliable internet connection (cable, wired 200Mbps), always showing a green band. Perhaps someone can explain to me why someone with a poor connection, barely getting a red band, can score so highly in the Crucible.
I hate playing the Crucible because of this exploit. Almost every match I play has several players showing a poor internet connection, and yet they are waiting for me when I spawn, or when I turn a corner, or even if I shoot them fairly, they just never die! Players even appear in front of me out of thin air! Why is this?
I am not a completely crap player (although I may feel like it!), but when the Crucible is so unfairly balanced, what chance does anyone have?! Surely anyone with a good internet connection should not be at such an unfair disadvantage? I just cannot understand it, especially when I've paid to get the best connection available.
It has become so unfair that I will only play the Daily Crucible matches just for the marks. It is certainly not fun. Is anyone else noticing this exploit?

If you believe you've encountered someone cheating in Destiny, please use the in-game Report Player function: https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/12960 You may also report a player for having "Poor Connection"

More likely a cheater mate sometimes my connection is not great and it doesn't give me an advantage at all. Seems they may be manipulating the network settings but I'm no expert. It seems to be the general info given out on the forums.

Lag switches are the devil's best friends.

Sometimes when I join a crucible game my internet will straight bog out man it just goes from green to red and when the match ends my signal goes straight back to green. Btw when my signal bogs like that I cannot seem to kill anybody it just makes me terrible and I don't change the way I play. Idk of this has happened to anybody else.

I don't think it's an exploit. It's just a poor connection but I find it annoying as hell too. It sometimes feel like my weapons don't really do any damage at all. I wish Bungie would start getting dedicated servers.

Edited by l cohen l: 12/9/2015 7:09:57 PMI've made several posts regarding this. I've never heard back from a Mentor, let alone a Bungie employee on an answer. I've come to my own conclusion that the problem is down to the way Destinys' matchmaking works. If the host isn't in your country, other players connecting to the game (such as yourself or anyone else) will more than likely have a drop in their ping time, leading to a red bar connection. This also happens on a worse scale if the hosts internet connection is terrible as well. So even though Destiny announced not long ago that they were planning on banning players with a constant bad connection, those players you see with red bars have them because of peer2peer connections (citation needed as I'm not 100% about my guess on this (cough* Bungie employee or Mentor, please reply *cough)), not their own connections being bad all the time. For example; typically, I play around 10pm GMT, and my ping always sky-rockets around that time until around 11pm-12am. So that's telling me that I'm usually matchmade with players from all over the world, rather than players in my area (Europe). I hope there's a fix for this soon, because it is super frustrating.
