Foreword:
Yes. I present to you ANOTHER poll. This will hopefully be my last until I form another about American rock bands
Who's your favorite English rock band? Not including individual artists such as Eric Clapton and Elton John.
Any Bad Company fans out there? I personally love them, more so than some of the bands listed above, but others don't seem to feel the same.
I did not include the Beatles because of the fact they virtually started modern pop rock and spearheaded the music industry of their era. During their reign, they ruled unchallenged. I find it hard to compare other bands to them, even if you may prefer other's music (I'm aware that some of the bands named above may be just as good or better, but I don't believe they're as influential). The Beatles were THE band.
Your poll is mean. I want to choose Led Zeppelin because they helped pioneer heavy metal more so than Black Sabbath did at first (early Sabbath is the genesis of Doom Metal whereas early Led Zep is the genesis of heavy metal via Jimmy Page's heavy interpretation of English folk and blues). But then we also have Queen. The greatest arena rock band of all time who also had the greatest vocalist of all time, Freddie Mercury and hold a special place in my heart for a myriad of reasons. From an objective viewpoint, I'm gonna go with Led Zeppelin due to the groundwork they laid, but Queen is a very, very close second for personal reasons. Also, your poll is mean.
