Saber News Stories 12-10-15

Welcome back to another week of Saber News Stories. In last week’s segment we talked about a few features that Guardians had talked about in the forums that they would like to see come to Destiny. Xur in app purchasing as well as cosmetic modifications for your Guardian were the topics of discussion as well as a new product that was sure to get rid of the clutter in your life. Well this week we have another great product that is sure to add some extra protection in your life. We will also be covering the brand new Crucible feature that is Sparrow Racing as well as talking about the King’s Fall Challenge modes. We also would like to inform you that the reason for this week’s News Segment being on Thursday is due to me having to study for my college finals next week which also means next week’s will be on Friday since I have finals on Wednesday and Thursday. High Speed Sparrow Racing This week Bungie released another update that brought forth something many Guardians have asked for since day one. Sparrow Racing, while the initial popularity was quite high, certain aspects however did lower the ratings after finding out that some gear as well as Sparrow’s required you to purchase Silver from Tess in order to obtain them. This angered many Guardians because they felt that they had to “pay to win” essentially. These items however are completely optional and some can be obtained through the Quest Amanda Holiday gives you. Sparrow Racing is actually quite fun, I myself took part in the fun and have more than 68% of my Record Book completed on my Titan. I do dislike the fact that many racers are turning into pricks by pushing you out of Gates preventing you from getting necessary boosts you need in order to keep the speed up during the race. The race will be around for three weeks and after reaching rank three apparently 320 Helmets can drop so get on out there Guardians if you’re lacking a helmet over 310. Have fun out there Guardians and always remember to wear a helmet when racing because it's dangerous out there on the track with the shoving and the pushing and the shooting bang boom bang. Not So Challenging Challenge Mode It has been two weeks since the King’s Fall Challenge modes started dropping. In the first week the Warpriest was the first challenge. The challenge consisted of essentially the same regular strategy most Guardians used; however, the change was that the Aura holder had to be different each time. This proved to be not so challenging leaving many Guardians bummed and asking “Will all the challenges be this easy?” and “Come on Bungie, Really?” The rewards however are worth it whether it’s a challenge to get them or not. Completing the challenge drops a 320 Artifact as well as 320 Heavy Weapon or Special Weapon at least for the Warpriest. This week’s Challenge was Golgoroth and it actually proved to be slightly more difficult but a cheese was very quickly found making it not very challenging at all. The challenge requires every person to obtain the Gaze meaning you would need to take down all six orbs and do damage to Golgoroth. A cheese if you could really call it that was found where you can still do the One Orb Strategy. Simply start out normally with the One Orb Strat then a second person takes the Gaze, everybody jumps out of the middle and then switch off the Gaze until everyone has had it and rinse and repeat. We expect this method to possibly be fixed sometime soon. Now we look towards the Oryx challenge and what it will entail. Tune in next week when it is announced. Perfect Defense Tool This week’s product is sure to add a little extra protection for you… and no we are not talking about Condoms. We are talking about the Defender Personal Shield Series. This device takes the form of a wrist watch that can also function as a watch but when a certain button on the side is pushed, that’s when all the magic starts. When pushed the watch releases an invisible force barrier that is strong enough to block against even the highest caliber rounds and can withstand over four tons of pressure. Four tons of pressure!!! Now I can survive getting Fist of Havocked by Titans and even survive a Golden Gun shot yay!!! The watch has a built in scanner that detects whether the user it partaking in illegal activities such as robberies or shootouts and will not activate. The smart technology in the watch can determine whether smaller activities such as fights or so are classified as self-defense or if the user was the instigator. This helps prevent criminals from using the nearly invincible shield technology from committing crime. I damn sure would be buying these should the Speaker decide to start throwing more Guardians off the tower in retaliation for us throwing him off at one point. This watch is more on the expensive side but when a person’s life is worth more than any amount of money I’m sure $245.99 is nothing. Announcements We have a few announcements before we end this segment. Our first announcement is that Bungie has announced that there will not be a major new DLC this year which has many upset. We will keep you posted as more information becomes available. Our second announcement is more of a question. Do you enjoy reading things like this when all the posts in the forums seem to be negative? Let us know what you think about posts such as these, give us feedback so that we can make them better, and give us suggestions for future segments. Well that’s all we have for this week’s news segment, don’t forget to check out our elder brother station the Unofficial Weekly Update anchored by MurdiusMaximus every Thursday. Remember you heard it first from your friendly neighborhood Sabertooth Tiger.
