Aries got up, still grinning. " Of course. I expect nothing less of you. Except, you can control my abominations. They aren't creatures of the Darkness, they're creatures born out of me. Each one was ripped out from me, and can be pieces together. So what you just did..... It just solidified your downfall. You are no longer a Guardian. You will never be a Guardian ever again. Your fate is sealed."
-
Switch didn't want to admit it, but he knew Aries was at least partly right. He wasn't ever going to be quite the same again after this. "I'll find a way to get rid of this infection, trust me on that. There's nothing I'd like more right now. But perhaps I should play as some sort of role model to you: be everything you couldn't be, do what you couldn't do, amend what mistakes you made. Your mistakes. You. You did this to me. And for that, if it wasn't personal earlier, it sure is now. I'm not just going to kill you. I'm going to make it hurt" Switch's body began changing and warping into a black smoke, which suddenly catapulted towards Aries in a fast straight line, like an agressive dark jetstream. Just before reaching Aries, the smoke solidified back into Switch, where he maintained momentum and planted his knee right into Aries' face, whipping his head back violently.
-
Aries was launched back. He didn't even fight back now. All he did was laugh and grin. " Oh I see it now! You're going to become a much more powerful pawn of the Darkness then I could ever dream of! It will be you that will pick up where I left off. I won't bring about the end of the Light. No, that'll be you. You're proving that right now, with every hit you throw at me."
-
"Heh... Maybe I will. I'll just do that: Succeed where you failed. But to start, I'm going to need a few things of yours..." Once again, sorrow's many tendrils emerged from the ground all over the city. But instead of attacking, the tendrils all arched over in great arcs, drooping down into the square where Switch and Aries were, and connecting with Switch's body at their epicentre. Soon enough every tentacle in the city was linked to Switch, burrowed into his back. "Let's start by taking your sorrow" Within moments, every tendril in the city twisted and evaporated into a thick black mist. The mist converged on Switch as all of it diffused into his body, eventually becoming fully absorbed. Sorrow was gone. All that remained of him was a voice inside the heads of both Switch and Aries.
-
'Son of a bitch. You did it, Aries...'
-
" Do as you will. It matters little to me. My part in this bloody chapter is done. I've transferred the mantle of Champion of the Darkness to you. Now it is up to you. And once you fall from the Light, there is no turning back." Aries started walking away. All of his abominations were recalled. Soon he disappeared. All that was left was the destruction and the death.
-
"No..." Switch fell to the ground in utter defeat. He felt nothing but the sorrow he had absorbed, and his whole body ached with the pain within. He didn't know what to do, or even how to react with what had just happened. He just lay in the dirt and rubble on his back, and looked hopelessly into the sky. "Aries... I will find you... And I will kill you..."
-
Erik knelt down beside him. 'I can end it for you...'
-
"No. I'm gonna find that motherf*cker, and end him in the most grueling way I can muster. Only then am I willing to die happily"
-
'You won't die happily, believe me. You might have a short time where you're blissful, but it's downhill from there.'
