Why the increase in Recoil on Fusions? (Edited Title)

Many people have expressed their displeasure with the changes to fusions but I'll put my own flavor to it. So IMHO (as well as my son's and Daughter's who play) fusions were 'almost' perfect before. Our reasoning is this: We considered Fusions the weapon of choice for the quick kills that are just beyond Shotgun effective range. They took a degree of skill and timing that I feel even surpasses sniping. You needed to know your charge rates, dispersal, and effective range. Frankly the only people that you saw using fusions were people who were exceptional with then and they Rekt with them. It was respectable though. You didn't have a lot of people running around with them (al la Shotguns) so I feel that in and of itself balanced the use of the weapon. The change to the stability has made them a much less friendly weapon to use so now even less people will use them and even the ones that do will be less effective. Please reconsider the change.

  • Personally I don't notice much of a difference. I use Fusion rifles all the time and I still do good with them now. I'm one of the few who uses fusion in trials (sometimes a sniper) unlike any shotgun.

  • They needed ruined cuz some Bro that Sage knows at Bungie, is beast with fusions and melts people. Totally....... Fusions are OP as Fk, it's just nobody but Sage's Bro is good at using them. Fusions will continue to be nerfed until that Dude can no longer use them. It's called Bungie weapon tuning research data.

After so many games with them, it's obvious why people don't use them. Sometimes they just don't work. Every bolt appears to connect, the enemy will even flinch like they got hit, yet they won't even lose their shield. Then they'll easily decimate you with last word. Why go to the effort to pre charge a gun, choose the ideal distance, control the crazy recoil, and then HOPE the fusion gods have you in their favor when you can simply pick up a last word and kill from the same distance without even aiming down a sight and while firing full auto. I love fusion rifles. But even while doing well with them, they cause me so many unnecessary deaths due to random fusion failures. Every gun has these random anomalies. Bullets miss for no reason etc. But it's painfully obvious and the consequences more severe when you're using a gun where you have to charge it between shots.

              • They upped the damage for some reason, then compensated by taking the recoil to the moon. Why make a change if you're gonna compensate for it after? Maybe they succeeded in balancing them statistically, but now that the shot go flying everywhich way, I just get ticked off using them. When you feel like you will do better by throwing the gun at the enemy, somethings off.

                  • Bump because my go-to special weapon type is even more unusable than they were in the HOW timeframe of Destiny.

                  • They love to confuse and frustrate us. As soon as we get used to how the weapons work, which ones to use for certain situation, spend time, motes and marks on infusing our favorites they throw a monkey wrench in. Then we have to figure this s**t all over again.

                    • Small correction: They increased Recoil- not reduced stability.
