I pay a decent amount for my home Internet. My provider is a pretty standard name. My connection to other games, when I'm on my pc, or using my phone wi fi has always been good.
I plug my Xbox into my ethernet and have exquisite connection most of the time. The trouble I'm running into is every so often I get booted with a "Attempting to contact Destiny servers" message.
This is not meant to be an angry, mudslinging, rage post. I do however wish to convey how frustrating it is to get kicked halfway through an elimination match, screwing me and my team out of the game.
Now I realized a long time ago that the better players usually have lower ping. I played League of Legends on PC for years. There is a graph of the ping that high ranking players have, and the higher the rank, the less the average ping.
I do not mean that Low ping = Winning. I do mean that serious players pay more for their Internet to keep lag, and error messages from being an issue.
I regretfully have to make this (Wildly inaccurate I'm sure) accusation that your company was not ready for the volume of players that came in for ttk. You didn't upgrade, borrow, or buy enough servers. This is most likely because your company thinks after a month when people start quitting that servers won't be an issue.
Which again, would just be ridiculous right? That to save money you didn't get the appropriate amount of server space for your players? Or let's go the even more terrible route, what if you literally just didn't get them because you thought you didn't need them...
Overall I'm unhappy that connection is one of the biggest issues this game has. I understand when people start quitting it won't be as big of an issue. But it's still unacceptable to have it be THIS BIG OF AN ISSUE.
Thank you,
A concerned Gaurdian

They should stop inventing new things for destiny and work on thier servers.
