I play trials every week with randoms off lfg.
This week for whatever reason this has been a thing Ive consistently heard.
It happened to a guy in my fireteam where it said he was down and another said he somehow sniped himself. Clearly there is a rare glitch going around

It's not a glitch... it's when you kill the other person and they are lagging or cheating and don't register as dying for ages, so they get a chance to shoot you back (often like this where you are way behind cover) and because they've been dead a while they don't get a kill.

The guy in my fireteam died pretty fast with no lag but who knows Im thinking it has something to do with the tunnels for sniping in trials this week. No other map in year 2 really has that so Im guessing that played a role somehow

I've had WAYYY laggier games where I've traded snipes and both people have had a kill register. I've had matches with 3+ seconds between registration

3+ seconds? I've had a guy go for a solid 30 seconds before my snipe registered on him. He wiped the entire team in a game of skirmish and as I'm scoping in on him again he dies to my snipe.
