Petition to remove Trials of Osiris from the game (not #satire)
Let me start by saying that I have absolutely nothing against the game mode itself other than its lack of matchmaking, but unfortunately the players who participate in Trials continually destroy the game for everyone else. I know it's a radical suggestion to remove an entire game type because of player behavior, but I'm not sure anyone is going to want to keep playing the shell of a game that Trials players leave the rest of us.
The problem is and always will be nerfs.
Since Trials inception, it has easily been the single biggest contributor to nerf posts on these forums.
- Thorn was essentially erased from this game because of Trials.
- Hand Cannons were AR'd because of Trials.
- Pulse Rifles just got boned [i]because of Trials[/i].
- Sunbreakers were probably doomed anyway, but the loudest cries for nerfs... Trials.
And as bad as all those were, now I'm seeing posts crying that Trials matches aren't fair because of MIDA and Truth.
Seriously go find a Chinese hell to burn in if you're going to cry about MIDA and Truth. The point of this game was supposed to be becoming more powerful and finding more powerful and awesome weapons. MIDA has [i]always[/i] been a great counter to any "God weapon" in this game, not because it's OP, but because it's so well balanced and versatile from mid to long range.
But rather than find counters like MIDA, rather than grind for your own "God weapons" if you feel you can't compete, rather than get fracking good, we've systematically destroyed every weapon and class that was ever fun in this game.
Go shoot a goddamn Fusion Rifle. They're complete garbage. Collateral damage from the constant dicking over of weapons, all to "balance" one stupid PvP mode that almost no one plays.
Someone post those pathetic numbers they put up a month or so ago about how few players actually compete in ToO and the infinitesimal number that have actually gone to the Lighthouse.
So we're going to have all our weapons ruined in not only PvP, but PvE as well so probably less than 5% of the player base don't cry? I just don't get your thought process here Bungie.
I can tell you this though, there's not one reasonable or remotely valid reason to nerf Truth, MIDA or Scouts and if that unbelievably stupid thought crosses Jon Wisnewski's mind then it's time to pull the plug on Trials.
And to anyone who enjoys Trials, I'm sorry but there would be no one to blame but yourselves. Better you lose your game mode than be allowed to keep dragging the rest of this game down with your incessant crying for nerfs.

1 ReplyRemoving trials is like removing a raid. Its intended for those who seek for competitive play from this game. And even if they did remove it there will still be nerfs because a gun will become op through ib or regular crucible. If anything just dont even play trials ahah.

People will always complain no matter what, it doesn't matter if it's trials or a normal match.. People with lesser skill will keep complaining until they get what they want

3 RepliesYou look forward to raids and such and the people who play pvp and don't want to grind out boring strikes or repetitive raid over and over this is basically the only way to get gear and it's just weapons which everyone else can get from winning 5 games just won't be a different color if they take trials out of this game me and the 15% of destiny population that play it will most likely leave and the nerfs don't come from trials it comes from whinny kids who suck at the game get killed by a weapon over and over and scream nerf it shotguns are nerfed so here come the sniper nerf calls because "aimassist" and it being the only good secondary left people will ruin those also and mida is the perfect balance gun it excels at everything not overpowered at anything if your strafe and aim game is good you will do good if it's poor and you stand still your going to die

They nerf weapons for pvp not for pve, anyway pulse rifles are not dead, I think now the game have a good balance, every game on trial of osiris ( I play alot and got a 2,2 kda ) I see alot of diferents weapons. Mida, last word, halo supercell , read death, nirwens.. Now you can see every time of weapon in the crucible. They did a good job. Ofc my main was red death.. Now its not that good but its still efective in mid range.. Ofc a Mida on long range will win, same as last word in low range. Just stop cry about everithing happens in the game. They should add more content that's true but for the balancing they are doing a good job.

8 RepliesYou have very little crucible time at all and doubt you even understand the frustration in getting killed repeatedly by the same gun that the whole team is running because choosing any other weapon is putting you at a huge disadvantage. The need for balance in the crucible is real. The balance for crucible however shouldn't ever effect PvE play. Trials an IB are the most exciting thin destiny has going for it since every match is guaranteed to be different where as any PvE content if played enough is repetitive an tedious. So before you start complaining about something you don't actually know about, try it for more than one weekend and don't be scared to lose and who knows you might actual start to like it

Guardians die in pvp, they cry for a nerf. Then guns get ruined for pve. Surely Bungie can spilt the weapon stats for the two arenas.

Agreed. Thanks to PvP, the Mythoclast is shit, Pocket Infinity has been left a broken shitty mess, shotguns are basically just a little more useful than a [b]melee[/b] and can even be countered by certain melees. Fusion Rifles have been -blam!-ed since the first nerf wave, and repeatedly -blam!-ed with each set of 'tweaks'. ARs were toothless for the longest time, and are just about acceptable now, but still pale in comparison to Scout Rifles. Most Pulse Rifles suffered for the sake of a few being a bit strong (messenger, super pox etc), all Hand Cannons suffered for the sake of 3 (Thorn, TLW, Hawkmoon). The only things that havent been touched are Scout Rifles and Snipers, and now all you see is whining about MIDA and how everyone is using snipers. So going on past precedent that will be Scouts and Snipers catching a nerf, so if I want to come back to PvE, Im left with a choice of toothless guns. Amazing.

I was totally expecting you to get roasted like Snookie at a Tanning salon, but no... Sad. But you are right I guess. Weapons for the PvP mode should be balanced separately or be completely different weapons/gear.

People are still going to cry nerf. That's a given but Trials isn't what has caused all these nerfs. There has been a time before Trials and AR's still got a major nerf. If something is overpowered then it is inevitable for said weapon to get adjusted. Don't go bashing the mode. The mode is meant for the people that play crucible day in and day out. Not everyone is going to the lighthouse and the sooner everyone accepts this the better.
