Edited by Thndrstrykr: 12/24/2015 8:25:28 AMI personally thought it was the best movie I've seen in a long time. HOWEVER- there are several issues I had with it. REMINDER: THESE ARE MY PERSONAL OPINIONS SO DON'T HATE MORE THAN NECESSARY First, J. J. Abrams was trying too desperately to prove it wasn't like the prequels by adding too many references to the original trilogy. I'll admit that some were rather good, but eventually it got kinda old. Second, Kylo Ren. Vader HAD to have his mask on, but that's one of the things that made him so badass. He had a sense of mystery because you don't know what he was really like. Kylo Ren proves he will never measure up to his grandfather by throwing that all away the first time a pretty girl asks him to. Third: what was the First Order's plan with the weapon? It needs to absorb an entire sun for a single shot. I assume that particular system had two suns, seeing as they planned to fire twice. But what about after that? Did they just build this hoping they would completely destroy all their enemies in two blasts? They would have no more fuel for another shot, unless they somehow were able to move the entire planet to more suns, which seems unlikely. Finally, the ending. You don't need to spend ten minutes (guessing) to set up for the next film! This is Star Wars, things that live under rocks know Star Wars has an affinity for trilogies, so the R2-ex-machina and journey to get to Luke was a wasted opportunity for more good storytelling.

Edited by JarcK: 12/20/2015 10:07:18 AMLoved it. My only critique is, I wish Kylo Ren was a bit more of a bad ass. He really wasn't up to the standards of the other Star Wars villains we love to hate.

I loved the movie. I didn't mind that it had practically the same plot as A New Hope. It was still awesome. That X-Wings over the lake scene was beautiful! I do have some critiques though. First off, Kylo Ren looks stupid, mask on and mask off. With the mask on( Without the hood ) he looks like the Cobra Commander from GI Joe. Without the mask, he looks like sixteen year old girl that dyed a lion's mane black and stapled it to her head. Plus, he got defeated way too easily. I get that his training wasn't complete and that he was conflicted on the inside between the Dark side and the Light side, but compare that to Rey, who had only held a lightsaber for like fifteen minutes and used the Force half that amount of time. Another issue. Captain Phasma. She had the potential to be an awesome non-lightsaber villain that could cause trouble for the Resistance. Instead she got tackled by a walking carpet and then thrown into a trash compactor to become a little cube and shot out of Starkiller station like space shit. Yet another issue. Someone please explain to me why the First Order is powerful enough to take on the Republic, yet only the Resistance is fighting them? Does the Republic not give a shit that a faction has risen up that is similar to the Empire and has a mega weapon that is five times deadlier than the Death Star? Do they not have the military forces to stop them? And if that's the case, then why does the First Order waste their super weapon on attacking Republic systems? They're not a threat. They should've just saved the weapon for the resistance, and that way the station wouldn't be blown up when it's charging up its second shot. Another issue. Well actually this one is speculation. In the movie, it's revealed that the First Order storm troopers were genetically modified from birth to be loyal and deadly. What's the first thing that comes to mind when you think of that? Clone army. Who the hell is cloning storm troopers for the First Order? And who's genetic template are they using? Why are there female clones and male clones? Does that mean there are multiple genetic templates? Last issue. Not that I'm not happy he's alive, but how the hell did Fin survive? He got slashed across the back and on his shoulder. Burns like that kill people, as proven in the previous movies. Same goes for Kylo Ren. He got shot, and cut four times by a lightsaber. They're both lucky sonsabitches of you ask me....

Honestly, the worst of all Star Wars movie BUT it's still a great movie. 7/10 is my rating. Very little action sequences (especially only "one" lightsaber battle). Oh well, the noobs of the force will never be like the OG's.

Never watched Star Wars. Can I just watch the newest one?

Edited by AYRES: 12/20/2015 3:48:13 PM6/10. Dont like kylo rens face, Snoke looks like a troll or gollum from the hobbit, final attack scene was poor. Cliche and predictable asf. It didnt leave you on the edge of your seat even if you knew the outcome. Also the entire republic gets blown up instantly?!

Edited by lm MFn Rambo: 12/20/2015 3:31:53 PMWas a pretty remake of the first trilogy. -Lets destroy the Death Star for the 3rd time! -Sith Lord bad guy beaten -Young Jedi learning the force -Movie starts with empire chasing droid containing secret plans But all the teenie boppers don't remember any of that. They're seeing this for the first time. Busting all their pimples in one nerdgasm.

My favourite part was BB-8 giving a thumbs up with his lighter.
-
Favourite scene was Poe Dameron going on a 20 kill streak in his x-wing. Finn's reaction: priceless.
-
My favorite part was when the exact same plot from A New Hope unfolded.

Rey is hot. Bump if you agree <3

What's the big deal with cpt fasma? I hear lots of talk about her but she was just a general... She didn't even fire her gun...

Edited by Valkitus: 12/21/2015 1:08:54 PM
So does Finn possibly have some part of the Force within him? He seemed to be doing well fighting Kylo until the end of the fight when he got burned on the shoulder and sliced in the back. I wonder if both him and Rey will become Jedi together and take on Kylo Ren in the next or last episode.
