I haven't seen this issue addressed recently. To answer the OP's question, I'm 50/50 right now. The grind to level up and get better gear becomes a waste of time, very redundant. I would also play more if there was an option to have match making with all strikes/events/raids/etc. I don't like to have to find members on another forum to ask to do the raid, or have to start my own and go thru all the logistics. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea to be able to assemble your own team and run NF or the Raid, but sometimes you can't get all your bros together when it is convenient for you. I would play a lot more if there was match making for NF and Raid. Since that does not exist, and I play a lot by myself due to my schedule, the game is very redundant and a grind, and the best events (Raid) in the game, make it hard for me to play based on the admin/logistics. Joining Clans is a great option, but why make it almost required?
I also think you (the player) should have full responsibility for your guardian. If I don't need the 310 chest Armor, but want to increase my 298 1k, then let me cross infuse and be responsible for my own actions on how I want to create my attack and defense.
Don't get me wrong, I am still playing, but I get more frustration than joy at the moment from the redundancy and chance. And when/if you do get a loot drop, sometimes it is worthless to your character after the amount of wasted time you spent.
The dev team has done a good job, and the concept of Destiny is still evolving just as the game and business model is...we don't expect perfection, but you need to keep the veterans motivated to bring in new recruits.
Just my opinion...and I am not the greatest player, I might change my name to "PlsRevMe".
