I'm probably one of the biggest Star Wars fans (or scholars with how much I know and have been obsessed with lol) in the world - been a fan since I first saw a new hope when I was 4 years old back in the 80's, I've been to Star Wars Celebration every single time, I have tons of books, comics, video games, action figures, statues, props, personally built lightsaber props etc - and the movie was a complete let down.
The link is a review that was done and mirrors a lot of my sentiments exactly.
People have to put the hype and rose tinted glasses aside and really look at the film for what it was, and what it wasn't.

Nobody can seriously disagree with this review.

Edited by Copper: 12/26/2015 3:48:53 AMI hate it when people mention that they are "super fans" just to get their point out. I get it, you didn't like the movie but claiming to be a super fan doesn't add anything to your point. It's not a perfect movie but is it entertaining? Of course it is. Enjoy it.

Edited by RdDragonEmperor: 12/20/2015 12:35:05 PMOverhyped is right. By no means is it a bad movie, but I think a lot of people are comparing it to the prequels. This makes it seem awesome.

Lmao it followed a new hope for two reasons, 1) the film wouldn't suck, and 2) it'd be so great that the next generation would fall in love with Star Wars.

Edited by DownwardSpyril: 12/20/2015 1:13:45 PMThough, I did enjoy the movie. It was a New Hope 2.0. I understand staying true to "Star Wars"...but there was too much borrowed IMO. If I had never seen Episode IV...then this would not be an issue. Thus, originality...was lacking. My understanding is that Disney did not go with Lucas's original script and let JJ A. develop something new. After seeing what he came up with...it makes me curious as to what Lucas originally had in mind.

The only thing the review even said was that the plot was cliche. Because really, that was the only bad part of the movie (aside from the dodgy line here and there).

That review seemed so bias right from the start. In my opinion it was a great movie, all of the characters were great and the new ones are original. I personally think Kylo Ren was a great villian, people have to realize though that he isn't at the Vader level yet, he's essentially an evil padawan. John Boyega was great as Finn. Just as Daisy Ridley was great as Rey. The review you linked looked like a desperate attempt at getting attention rather than an actual review.
