Baiting, for me at least, Serves Three purposes: 1.) The obvious click bait properties: I need my opinion conveyed to the most people possible. 2.) To understand how the community truly feels about a topic as people in general have their own opinions made up already and will try to convey it as quickly as possible, often leading to jumped conclusions. 3.) People have built up anger inside them and sometimes need a catalyst to make them to vent a little.
