Xil growled and punched Switch in the gut, sending him flying. Lakir recovered and tackled Xil to the ground.
Meanwhile
J," Just look around.... Is this what you wanted?"
Lake did look around, and he didn't like what he saw.
J," Are you really going to become like Aries?"
L," No..."
J," Are you going to become worse?"
L," Never."
J," Then what the hell are you doing?"
L," I.... I don't know anymore...."

Switch signaled Lakir to back away from Xil, straight after tackling him to the floor. Switch then raised an arm and summoned multiple dark tendrils that erupted from the ground and latched themselves onto Xil, pinning him firmly to the ground as if trying to crucify him there. He looked over to see that Lake had stabbed James, and he thusly rushed over to try and help.
-
Xil broke free using his strength. Him and Lakir got into a stalemate, trading blows between themselves. Lake pulled the sword out and took a step back. James put his hand over the wound, and was healing it with a bright aura. J," It wasn't too deep." L," God.... What have I done...?" J," You can still fix all of this. Aries is the one hat has to go." L," I'm not strong enough to fight him. No one here is." J," Never stopped you before. You owe every single Guardian here to try." L,"..."
-
"Besides, who ever said you had to face him alone?" Switch had caught up to James and Lake, stopping beside them.
-
L," That thing is still attached to your chest. I can't remove it. So you'll be no match for him. But there is a way you can help me, it'll help me even the playing fields against Aries."
-
"Go on, I'm listening..."
-
" Aries instilled his own Darkness in the both of us. I can take the Darkness inside of you, cleanse you, and increase my strength, enough to kill Aries."
-
"Then do it. The sooner this sickness is out of me, the better"
-
" Alright, but it'll leave you exhausted. To the point of collapse."
-
"Just do it. I'm ready"
-
Lake put his hand on Switch's shoulder. Almost immediately, Lake could feel himself getting stronger while Switch was getting weaker.
-
Switch's legs began to give way as he slumped to his knees on the ground. It looked like he was in a lot of pain, but he wasn't saying anything.
-
"James, get ready to help him. I'm almost done. A few more minutes, and the process was complete. James caught Switch and laid on the ground. He began healing him with a Light aura emitting from his palm. Lake looked over across the river. " Be quick about it. And tell everyone to fall back to a safe distance. If I want to fight him at 100%, I can't be worrying about other Guardians getting caught in the fighting."

Edited by Moot: 12/24/2015 3:22:47 PMA few moments later, Zaaria arrived near James and Lake on her sparrow. "I can take Switch back to the camp. He'll be safer recovering there"
-
J," Do that. When you get back, issue an order for all Guardians to fall back."
-
"Already done. Most of our battle groups are already returning. A few stragglers here and there, but they all have the message" Zaaria picked Switch up and slumped him over her sparrow, before getting on it and racing back to the guardian camp.
-
J," You sure you can handle him?" L," Only one way to find out." James nodded and got on his sparrow and raced off. Lake waited. He knew Aries would come to investigate why the fighting had stopped.
-
Zaaria arrived back at the camp. She picked up Switch and carried him over her shoulder to the nearest med tent. Just before entering, she looked over to the mountainside that had crumbled and broken under Lake's dark influence. "...where are you Jaden?..."

Edited by IXMMISmokey: 12/24/2015 4:25:13 PMPretty soon, Aries showed up on the other side of the river, just across from Lake. A," So. They managed to convince you to go back to the Light? You're pathetic." L," And you're a monster. One that needs to be put down." A," Need I remind you of what you did today? You're just as bad as me." L," I'll never be like you." A," Oh really? Let me prove you wrong." A portal opened up next to Aries, long tendrils came out, carrying something, or rather, someone. It was Jaden, but he was severely wounded. Long gashes and cuts were all over him. A," The poor bastard should've died. But I kept him alive. You did that to him." L,"...." A," And that's not even mentioning all of the other Guardians you killed." The tendrils went back into the portal, and it closed. However, in the camp, a portal opened, and Jaden was deposited before it closed again. L," You're just trying to get into my head. You didn't save him out of the kindness of your heart." A," Point is. You would've killed him had I not intervened. I wonder how Switch and Zaaria would've taken to that." L," Just shut up. You sure do bark a lot but I wonder how your bite is." Lake was enveloped in Knight armour. Aries was chuckling. A," Oh I can do so much more than bite old friend." A large smoke cloud erupted around Aries, and he was engulfed. Pretty soon, the smoke cleared away, and what came out could only be described as a monstrosity. A gigantic ogre, as tall as if four Phogoths stood on each other's shoulders, was looking down at Lake. Aries was standing on the things head. A," What can you do? I wonder."
-
Another vex portal opened up besides Lake. Switch, Jaden and Zaaria all stepped through it and out onto the ground. Jaden was wearing a couple of bandages, where he had been more severely injured, but surprisingly, nearly all of his wounds had fully healed. S: "you're probably wondering how we're all here right now, Aries. I'd be enamoured to explain it to you if you gave me the chance"

Edited by Moot: 12/24/2015 5:12:11 PMZ: "And we told you that you're not going to do this alone" J: "you really expect us to sit back and watch while you fight Aries 1v1? Heh, that's funny" S: "we came prepared, anyway. Zaaria's told us about some of Aries' little reserve tricks, and we have backups for those too" Z: "yeah, we've had three weeks to prepare this"

The giant ogre started firing down bolts of energy on them. Lake wrapped up the trio in a protective shield, and took the blunt of the attack on himself. Each bolt of energy felt like a tank shell. Once the barrage was over he put them a mile away from the fight. Two giant portals opened up behind Lake, and two giant wooden hands came out. Out of the hand's palms, giant splinters shot out at the ogre, who grew enraged. Giant tendrils starts to bind its limbs so it couldn't move. L," Like I said. I can handle him alone, just go!"
-
A new vex portal opened up behind the ogre behemoth. Two members of the Vex sol progeny emerged, each one positioning itself behind each of the ogre's legs. In perfect sync to each other, the two giant vex constructs swung their legs out and around, connecting with the ogre's legs in the sides. The huge force of impact caused both of the behemoth's legs to give way and collapse under the sheer weight of the creature. The hard kick had also dented the legs of the sol progeny constructs. With the Vex portal still open, the three guardians emerged from it again. Z: "we'd appreciate it if you weren't fighting us as much as you're fighting Aries. We said we came prepared, now just let us help!" S: "we've got Erik's help too!" J: "dude, if you want to land the killing blow on Aries, just say it"
-
Aries laughed. " You three should really learn when you're outmatched. I suppose I should dish out one of my little tricks." Jaden heeled over, as if he was going to puke. He was coughing up blood.
-
Switch immediately knelt besides Jaden and put his hand to Jaden's mouth. After gaining some concentration, he pulled his hand away. A dark wisp of pure darkness emerged from Jaden's mouth and dissipated into the air. A few seconds later, he stopped coughing up blood and sat up again. S: "heh, who says we're the ones outmatched?" The two vex constructs walked back into the portal, and in their place came a single even larger Vex biped. This one was unbelievably massive, standing even taller than the large ogre. With a swift movement of its arm, the towering machine burrowed its arm straight into the ogre's back, its hand penetrating the chitinous armour like a massive needle. Traveling all the way through the ogre's body, the construct's hand Burt out if the behemoth's chest as grotesque bodily fluids from the ogre spilled to the floor like some poisonous contaminated waterfall. The dark behemoth screened in pain as it practically drowned in its own bio fluids.
