What's your drug of choice? Former opioid user here. Used weed to stay off the smack for about a year, then stopped all together. That was almost 3 years ago. I'm tempted to drink every now and then, which I don't even know why cuz I never enjoyed alcohol. It's tough man, but your life will get immeasurably better once you get through it. I hope you have a good support network and are quitting for you, not for the courts.
