A new vex portal opened up behind the ogre behemoth. Two members of the Vex sol progeny emerged, each one positioning itself behind each of the ogre's legs. In perfect sync to each other, the two giant vex constructs swung their legs out and around, connecting with the ogre's legs in the sides. The huge force of impact caused both of the behemoth's legs to give way and collapse under the sheer weight of the creature. The hard kick had also dented the legs of the sol progeny constructs. With the Vex portal still open, the three guardians emerged from it again.
Z: "we'd appreciate it if you weren't fighting us as much as you're fighting Aries. We said we came prepared, now just let us help!"
S: "we've got Erik's help too!"
J: "dude, if you want to land the killing blow on Aries, just say it"

Lake summoned his sparrow as well. Aries dragged himself to a wall, and sat up. His pulse was getting weaker by the second. He was very calm about it.
-
S: "Lake. Where is the location of that ship you sent Aries off to?"
-
L," Just north of the valley."
-
S: "Right, I'm going there. You guys head back to the camp, I'll meet you later" J: "Switch, what're you--?!" S: "--Just go" Switch got on his sparrow and sped out of the crater towards the location that Lake had given him.
-
Aries grabbed a flask from underneath his armour. A," Cheers."
-
Soon enough, Switch arrived at the location just beyond the valley where Lake's ship had landed. He got off his sparrow as it dematerialised behind him into blue shards of light. Looking around, he soon found Aries bleeding out and sitting down on the ground.
-
Aries had downed the last of his drink. Not hat it helped him. He was just looking at the scenery.
-
Switch walked over and sat down besides Aries, as he looked out over the distant mountain ranges. S: "Trying to go out on a high note, are we?"
-
" Does this look like a high note to you?" He coughed again, blood oozing out the corner of his mouth.

-
" Going out to one of my enemies.... Is going out on a high note..... This is pathetic."
-
Edited by Moot: 12/26/2015 12:07:08 AMS: "heh. I'll say... He continued to look out at the natural landscape, as the sun began to set, flooding the mountains in orange light. S: "it's called sympathy. Take it while you still can..."
-
A," I have no need for it."
-
S: "you never did. Truthfully, you don't need anything anymore"
-
" Do yourself a favour..... The Light, and the Darkness. It can all go to hell. Everyone is being used these days."
-
S: "what do you mean? You're saying that we're all pawns in some messed up game?"
-
" Like I said before. All of this..... Is just one giant chess match. The Fallen used to serve the Traveller.... Did you know that?"
-
Edited by Moot: 12/26/2015 1:06:09 AM"Yes, I do. Turns out you can learn a lot about the Eliksni from Variks if you get him drunk enough" Switch chucked to himself a bit. "I'm aware of how the traveller once came to the Eliksni in a time of need, and uplifted them into a golden age of their own. The traveller, or the great machine as they called it, birthed the servitors. They sustained and empowered the Eliksni by generating their life-giving ether; vital to their survival" "And then came the whirlwind. Your master, the darkness, descended upon their kind and forced the traveller into abandoning them, leaving their whole civilisation to crumble and fall into a dark age of their own. And thus, the Eliksni became known as the Fallen. Even today, they battle against us in a vein attempt to retake the traveller for themselves" "And I know what you're about to point out next: how the traveller did the exact same to us. It came to uplift us, only to try and escape the darkness the moment it entered our system. The only reason the traveller remains in this system, is Rasputin. That's all. All it took was for one warmind to cripple the traveller to the point of immobilisation" "Without Rasputin's intervention, neither you or I would exist"
-
" Is that such a good thing? If I didn't exist, a quarter of the city would still be here. Dark Guardians wouldn't exist. The Traveller doesn't fight its own battles. It forces others to do it. That's why there are Guardians."
-
Edited by Moot: 12/26/2015 1:27:41 AM"And yet, as you say that, those are words that come from someone who fights on behalf of the darkness, talking to someone who fights on behalf of the light. Sooner or later, you realise that both the light and darkness are the same, in that they use others to fight their own battles. Perhaps this is indeed just one large chess game..." "And yes, sometimes I do wonder to myself if Rasputin really made the right choice to keep the traveller here. But it's not worth arguing over anymore; those events happened centuries ago, and what's done is done"
-
" So why are you here....? Shouldn't you be with everyone else celebrating?"
-
"Celebrations can wait. This however, cannot. I think it's wrong that you should die alone and filled with nothing but regret, even after everything you've done"
-
" I regret nothing at all. And I'm not alone. The voice won't go away until I do."
-
"Really? No regrets at all? You don't regret killing all those innocent city dwellers? Not even a bit?"
-
" Who said they were innocent? One guy said I could kill his wife and children if I let him live. Another shot his girlfriend in order to please me or something. Innocence doesn't exist in this solar system."
