Probably because even warlocks understand how absurd their melees are.

Yeah. When you are REALLY far away you seem to hit the guy, when you are floating on top of him (basically mid-air teabagging) and you can't it him. I think there is a bit of auto aim for the melee because I can jump into a group of three, spam melee, and hit one of them, whether they are behind me or not.
